Have you noticed an increase in donut-themed stamps and dies? These sweet treats make for pretty adorable food-themed cards. Yum!
Today I wanted to share some cards I created with a new stamp and die set I just purchased because I couldn't resist the adorable images created by the amazing Elena Roussakis for Neat & Tangled. I'm just a little in love with the adorable images from the Say Yes To Donuts Stamp Set and coordinating dies and I used them to create these sweet birthday cards. I couldn't make just one....
I stamped the images from the Say Yes To Donuts Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I colored in the images with Copic Markers and then die cut them with the coordinating Say Yes To Donuts Dies. I added detail to the eyes with a black glaze pen and I added detail to the donuts with a white glaze pen.
To create the background for the donut kids images, I die cut two rectangles from smooth white cardstock using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die. I masked off a portion of each of the rectangles along one long edge using post it tape and then I applied Barn Door Distress Ink to both panels. I watered down a little Picket Fence Distress Paint and flicked it over the rectangles to add a bit of distressing. Once the paint was dry I stamped a greeting from the Say Yes To Donuts Stamp Set using black ink.
On smooth white side fold card bases, I applied Black Soot Distress Ink through the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Stencil for a great black/white stripe background. I applied the donut embellished panel to the card base with foam adhesive.
I stamped the solid heart images on smooth white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Lobster Ink and die cut with the coordinating Say Yes To Donuts Dies. I adhered them as shown and then applied a layer of Glossy Accents to the hearts. I added additional embellishment with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear 4mm and 6mm sequins and Mini Silver Heart Confetti.
I couldn't leave the inside of the card empty so I stamped an additional greeting on the inside of both and finished with some red hearts.
