The Hero Arts Color Layering Stamp Sets are some of my favorite. I love how easy it is to create beautiful dimensional layered images without the additional bulk. The Color Layering Fish Stamp Set is the perfect set for creating underwater scenes! I created a sweet hello friend card on the front and continued the design on the inside of the card for a completely finished look.
I stamped the base layer of the fish from the Color Layering Fish Stamp Set with the Hero Arts Soft Vanilla Ink and they layered fish image from the Hero Art Ombre Butter to Orange Ink. I finished each fish with the face image using black ink. The seaweed was stamped using the Hero Arts Lime to Forever Green Ink. All images were die cut using the coordinating Color Layering Fish Frame Cuts Dies. I applied Glossy Accents to the eyes on each fish.
For the background, I applied Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks on watercolor cardstock and spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted the background dry with a paper towel. The Confetti Bold Prints Background was inked up with the same two Distress Inks and stamped over the background. Seaweed images were stamped along the bottom edge of the design using second generation stamping with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. This will give the illusion of seaweed off in the distance.
A border was die cut from watercolor cardstock with a Stitched Borders 1 Die and I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the border, spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted the background dry with a paper towel.
I assembled the scene as shown and stamped a greeting from the Friendship Messages Stamp Set using black ink. Pearl gems complete the front of the card.
On the inside of a side fold card base I stamped an additional greeting from the Friendship Messages Stamp Set using black ink. I stamped another fish and seaweed in the bottom right corner of the card to make the inside of the card as pretty as the outside.
