Welcome to the Lawn Fawn September Inspiration Week!
Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the awesome Cheery Christmas Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I paired these awesome stamps with the Chibitronics LED Lights for a light up Christmas card. Light up cards are such a fun way to add an interactive element to card designs and I love how the Christmas lights from the stamp set look all lit up!
I die cut the rectangles from smooth white cardstock using a Large Dotted Rectangle Die. Using the MISTI, I stamped the reindeer, lights, ornaments and greetings from the Cheery Christmas Stamp Set on each rectangle as shown. The reindeer and lights were colored with Copic Markers and the ornaments were stamped with the solid images using Lawn Fawn Lobster, Sunflower, and Fish Tank Inks.
On the background rectangle, I applied the copper tape from the Chibitronics LED Lights starter kit, created a housing from cardstock for the battery, and attached the colored lights to coordinate with the colored Christmas lights. See video for step-by-step instructions.
I pierced each light bulb with a piercing tool to make the lights shine brighter when the battery is pushed.
After making sure the lights all worked, I built up foam tape around the battery compartment (three layers) and attached the colored panel to the light up panel. When you push the word "bright" in the greeting, the Christmas lights light up!
On the card base itself, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background on a red card base using Versamark Ink and then attached the light up panel in the center.
