Lawn Fawn October Inspiration Week In Review

Waffle Flower It's In The Details | Merry Christmas (in die cuts only)

It's time for my weekly video series,It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every Friday I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies.

Christmas cards don’t have to be traditional red and green and they don’t even have to include a single stamp! Today I am sharing a “postcard inspired” winter in the mountains scene card featuring only die cuts, including the greeting! I added color to the die cut scene elements with Distress Inks and added additional detail with a snow pen for the snow caps, a Pico Embellisher for the river and the “snow” on the trees, and even some embossing paste through a stencil for the falling snow in the background. Lots of layers add interest to the background and frame up this snowy scene beautifully and the gold foil cardstock layered behind the die cut greeting add a touch of elegance.

To build the background scene, I die cut two inside rectangles from watercolor cardstock using a Lacy Layers 2 Die. From one of the rectangles I die cut mountains using a Riverside Die. I die cut the river and trees from watercolor cardstock as well and die cut the a greeting using a Year Round Greetings Die.

On the background scalloped rectangle, I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and then applied white embossing paste through the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil. For the mountains and landscape, I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I adhered the mountain border to the snow falling background.

For the snow caps, I applied the Marvy Snow Marker and het set it for great "snowy" texture then I applied the snow caps to the background scene as shown.

I applied Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to the river and then added detail to the die cut with the Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher. Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink were applied to the trees and then I adhred the river and trees to the card as shown. The Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher finishes off the trees perfectly.

I die cut a strip of gold foil cardstock using a Sentiments Die and layered the "Merry Christmas" greeting over the foil. I adhered the strip above the mountain border.

I die cut another scalloped rectangle layer from white cardstock and adhered it to a card base. I adhered the winter scene to the background card base and finished with three layers of the tiny, tiny frames.

Simon Says Stamp November 2016 Card Kit | So Much To Be Thankful For Card

Happy Thursday friends! Today I'm sharing another new card with the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit. This is one of my favorite kits of the year. While the kit has sold out, you can still purchase many of the components individually or create something similar using products from your stash! I highly, highly recommend picking up the Thankful Heart Stamp Set. This gorgeous greeting stamp set is my new favorite and will be used a lot not only this time of year but all year round!

I trimmed a piece of Ivory Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and then ran it through a Big Shot using the Flower Frenzy Embossing Folder. I die cut the "signage" from a scrap of the woodgrain patterned paper using the Sketch Frame Die. I pulled apart the Metallic Copper Envelope and die cut the frame from the envelope as well.

I stamped a greeting from the Thankful Heart Stamp Set on the woodgrain patterned paper with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I adhered the sign to the embossed background and then glued the metallic copper frame around the woodgrain sign.

I die cut leaves from additional red, orange, yellow, and green patterned papers using the Stitched Maple Trio dies. I inked the leaves with Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, and Forest Moss Distress Inks. I adhered the leaves to the bottom two corners of the sign as shown and finished the design with drops of glitter glue.

I adhered the entire panel to a ivory card base using foam adhesive.

I stamped a thanksgiving greeting on the inside of the card using a sentiment from the Thankful Heart Stamp Set  using Delicata Celestial Copper Ink.

Mama Elephant Poinsettia (Coloring with Colored Pencils)

Happy Wednesday!

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the Poinsettia Stamp Set and coordinating dies. These gorgeous holiday florals look beautiful colored in any medium (I used watercolors on THIS card) but today I embossed the images in white on a kraft background and colored them in with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

I stamped the poinsettias from the Poinsettia Stamp Set and a greeting from the Merry Christmas Wishes Stamp Set on kraft cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I colored in the poinsettias with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and blended the colors with the Prismacolor Blender Pencil. I "distressed" the background with some of the "splatters" from the Brush Strokes Stamp Set using Apple, Lemongrass, Mojito, and Yeti pigment inks.

I die cut the background panel and a piece of smooth white cardstock with the frame from the Madison Avenue Die Collection. I inlay the white frame with the kraft stamped inside rectangle with foam adhesive on the back of the two pieces. I removed the foam tape backing and adhered the entire thing to a side fold card base.

I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.

Mama Elephant | Retro Holiday Labels Gift Tags (Set of 6)

Hello! Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the awesome new Retro Holiday Labels Stamp Set. This gorgeous stamp set is perfect for creating greetings on cards or labels. I've paired several of the greetings with the Union Square tag dies and Wooly Winter sheep for a set of retro gift tags.

I die cut the front of each of the tags from smooth white cardstock using the tag and window dies from the Union Square tag dies. On the front of each of the tags, I stamped a greeting from the Retro Holiday Labels Stamp Set using black ink.

For the tag "back", I die cut the tag shape from kraft cardstock using the Union Square tag die. I stamped some of the sheep from the Wooly Winter stamp set on each tag using black ink and colored in the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and blended the coloring with the blender pencil. I added detail to the animal's faces with the black and white glaze pens and sparkle to the hats, scarves, and accessories with the stardust glitter pen. I stamped "to/from" from the Mini Messages Stamp Set on the kraft tag using black ink.

I adhered the front of the tag to the kraft "backing" making sure to keep the adhesive on just the outside edges and not the window.

Each tag was finished with red/white sparkle twine.

Lawn Fawn String of Lights | Custom Dye Ink Colored Christmas Lights Card

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing a new card showcasing the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Dies. I die cut the light bulb components from white cardstock and custom inked them with Lawn Fawn Dye Inks. I created the "halos" for the lights on the background with foam daubers. A simple stamped and embossed greeting perfectly accents the darling light set!

I die cut the smallest of the three sizes of light bulbs from the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Dies from smooth white cardstock and silver foil cardstock (the end piece). The string was die cut from Lawn Fawn Black Cardstock. I inked up the top light bulb die cuts with Plastic Flamingo, Lobster, Carrot, Sunflower, Freshly Cut Grass, and Fish Tank dye inks.

I adhered the custom inked layer to the white layer and then added the silver foil die cut end to each light bulb. I added a layer of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen to each bulb and set them aside.

I carefully arranged the string die cut on a white cardstock background and inked up the areas around where each light bulb would go with the coordinating ink colors.

I die cut a vellum layer using the A2 sized Dotted Rectangle Die and stamped greetings and the "twinkling" shapes from the Winter Big Scripty Words and Merry Messages stamp sets using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

I adhered the string and lights bulbs to the vellum layer and then adhered the vellum layer to the inked background. I adhered the the decorated panel to a side fold card base to finish the design.

Mama Elephant Pix's Happy Holiday | Set of 6 Gift Tags

Happy Monday friends!

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the Pix's Happy Holiday Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I paired the adorable bunny images from the Pix's Happy Holiday Stamp Set with the tag die shapes from the Park Avenue Die Collection. This set of gift tags will be beautiful tied to packages and can even be used as ornaments after the gift has been given!

I die cut six tags from kraft cardstock using a Park Avenue Die Collection die. Twelve tag toppers were die cut from smooth white cardstock using another Park Avenue Die Collection.

On each kraft cardstock tag I stamped images from the Pix's Happy Holiday Stamp Set using black ink and then colored in the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Any areas that needed blended, I used the Blender Pencil to do so. Details were added to each image with black and white glaze pens and a stardust glitter pen.

I stamped "falling snow" on each tag with the snow image from the Pix's Happy Holiday Stamp Set using white pigment ink. 

The tag toppers were adhered to the front and back of each kraft tag and then I stamped "to/from" from the Mini Messages Stamp Set with the white pigment ink.

Each gift tag was finished with bright pink twine tied through the top.

Waffle Flower It's In The Details | Shellebrate Christmas Card

It's time for my weekly video series,It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every Friday I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies. (I'm a little late sharing this as I had so many new cards and projects last week I thought I'd wait a few days before sharing this here).

Get the most from your stamp designs by taking non-holiday themed stamp sets and adding holiday accessories to the images for one-of-a-kind greetings! The adorable sea turtles from Shellebrate are shell-ebrating Christmas with this underwater holiday design! With gift packages and candy canes intermixed with the seaweed and a santa hat on the larger of the two turtles, these critters are ready for the holiday season! Layered dimensional frames created with Lacy Layers and Lacy Layers 2 Dies frame up the aquarium nicely and the New Fish In Pond Ink is the perfect color for inking up the “water” for the scene.

I created the frame for my underwater scene with dies from both Lacy Layers and Lacy Layers 2 die cut from both white and black cardstock. I inked up the "inside" white rectangle with New Fish In Pond Ink and a Dauber Duo. A greeting from the Stocking Stamp Set was stamped long the bottom edge of the black frame using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The turtles and seaweed from the Shellebrate Stamp Set and the santa hat, candy canes and gifts from the Stocking Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. I die cut the images with the coordinating Shellebrate and Stocking dies.

The images were adhered to the "underwater" inked scalloped rectangle, trimming excess off the edges as necessary. Using the outside frames as a guide, I adhered the scene to a side fold card base and then used foam adhesive to adhere the wide black frame and tiny, tiny white frame together before adhering to the card base. To make the tiny, tiny frame "pop", I die cut the frame again from white glitter cardstock and adhered it on top of the plain white one.

I finished the card by stamping bubbles from the Shellebrate Stamp Set with New Fish In Pond Ink and filling in with Glossy Accents and adding a puffy trim and ball to the santa hat with the Marvy Snow Marker.

Mama Elephant Union Square Creative Cuts Dies Shaker Card

Hello there! Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Union Square Creative Cuts Dies! I paired these dies with an image from the Pix's Happy Holiday for a fun square shaker card. The Union Square Die Collection is awesome for creating layers for cards or tags (the tag and window shape are to die for (check out my tags and video next Tuesday)!!! Versatile die collections are some of my favorite and most used because you can use them for anything. Love that.

I started out my card by stamping an image from Pix's Happy Holiday on kraft cardstock using black ink and coloring in the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I love how colored pencils look on kraft cardstock. Love. And those bunnies?!!! They are the cutest!

I die cut the bunny with one of the Union Square Creative Cuts dies and then stamped the falling snow image from the stamp set over the image with Yeti White Pigment Ink.

A greeting from the Jingle Greetings Stamp Set was stamped on a 4" square of acetate using white StazOn Ink.

I die cut the frames from smooth white cardstock with the Union Square Creative Cuts and then trimmed down a top fold card base to 4 1/4" square. Using the frames as a guide, and holding them in place with my hand, I applied adhesive to the center of the card base and adhered the stamped and colored die cut.

I glued the two white frames together with a strong adhesive and then adhered them to the acetate. I applied two layers of foam tape all around the four sides and filled the shaker with Sparkling Clear and Marshmallow seed beads. I brought the card base to the shaker and adhered it.

I adhered a kraft frame to the outside border of the card for contrast and then finished the design with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and confetti.

Mama Elephant | Merry Christmas Wishes Silver & White Shaker Card

Hello! Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Merry Christmas Wishes Stamp Set. I love the look of this big bod greeting paired with the smaller phrases! I decided to stamp the greetings on acetate, create a patterned paper background using the holly berries stamp from the set and make it all into a shaker card!

For the background, I stamped the image from the Merry Christmas Wishes Stamp Set on Lawn Fawn Narwhal cardstock using Yeti White Pigment Ink. I added Nuvo Silver Moondust Glitter Drops to the "berries" and set aside the background to completely dry.

On an A2 piece of acetate, I stamped the large script greeting and a smaller phrase from the Merry Christmas Wishes Stamp Set using Cotton White StazOn Ink.

I die cut a frame from silver foil cardstock using the Park Avenue Die and adhered it to the acetate. I placed two layers of foam tape on the back of the front shaker panel and filled the shaker with Silver Shimmer Seed Beads, removed the adhesive backing and adhered the back of the shaker to the front. I adhered the shaker to a side fold card base to finish the card.
