Mama Elephant Poinsettia (Coloring with Colored Pencils) (Nichol Spohr LLC)

Happy Wednesday!

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the Poinsettia Stamp Set and coordinating dies. These gorgeous holiday florals look beautiful colored in any medium (I used watercolors on THIS card) but today I embossed the images in white on a kraft background and colored them in with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

I stamped the poinsettias from the Poinsettia Stamp Set and a greeting from the Merry Christmas Wishes Stamp Set on kraft cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I colored in the poinsettias with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and blended the colors with the Prismacolor Blender Pencil. I "distressed" the background with some of the "splatters" from the Brush Strokes Stamp Set using Apple, Lemongrass, Mojito, and Yeti pigment inks.

I die cut the background panel and a piece of smooth white cardstock with the frame from the Madison Avenue Die Collection. I inlay the white frame with the kraft stamped inside rectangle with foam adhesive on the back of the two pieces. I removed the foam tape backing and adhered the entire thing to a side fold card base.

I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.
