Happy Friday! I'm here again today with my final projects as a Guest Designer for Neat & Tangled this month!
Scene cards are always a favorite of mine. One of my favorite things to do is to mix and match images from multiple stamp sets (and dies) to create truly unique scenes. I paired images from the new Santa’s Wonderland with the large deer from Into The Woods, the little bird from Lumberjack Love, and greetings from Happy Holidays (stamps and dies). I built the scene on the largest Scalloped die and popped up the die cut greeting with foam for subtle dimension. While I was stamping all the images for my card I went ahead and stamped a second set to create some coordinating gift tags with the Classic Tag 1 die. And what card is complete without a matching envelope? I stamped this beautiful Christmas red envelope with the Please Deliver stamps and the Into The Woods deer and Santa’s Wonderland North Pole sign before embossing with white embossing powder.
I started with the background for my card. I die cut a piece of smooth white cardstock using the largest Scalloped die. I die cut a mask for the bottom edge using a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 1 Die. I stamped falling snow from the Santa’s Wonderland stamp set along the top of the background using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. Next, I applied Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to the background. The embossed areas resist the ink and the mask protects the bottom edge of the scene, giving the backgroung the look of a snowy border and blue sky with falling snow. I removed the mask and stamped the word "Happy" from the Santa’s Wonderland stampset along the bottom border with black ink.
I used the MISTI to stamp Santa, the North Pole sign, stack of snowballs, and small reindeer from the Santa’s Wonderland stamp set, the large deer from Into The Woods, and the little bird from Lumberjack Love on smooth white cardstock using black ink. I stamped the images twice and colored them in with Copic Markers. I die cut all the images with the coordinating Santa's Wonderland Dies, Into The Woods Dies, and Lumberjack Love Dies. I added shimmery, glittery detail to the snowballs, snowman, and snow on the sign with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I darkened eyes and noses with the Sakura Black Gel Pen, and colored in the dots on the reindeers with the Sakura White Opaque Pen.
I assembled one set of the colored images on the card to build the scene as shown. I adhered Stick It to both sides of a piece of Fun Foam and then adhered cardstock to one side before die cutting with the "Holidays" die from the Happy Holidays Dies. I applied Barn Door Distress Ink to half of the dimensional greeting and then adhered to the scalloped panel as shown.
I adhered the panel to a white side fold card base and stamped a greeting from the Happy Holidays stamp set on the inside of the card to finish the design.
For the matching envelope, I stamped the lines and greeting from the Please Deliver stamps, the deer from Into The Woods, and the sign from Santa’s Wonderland on a Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red Envleope using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. I love the way the bright white embossing looks on the red envelope and how well the pretty envelope coordinates with the card!
For the gift tags I die cut two tags from smooth white cardstock using the Classic Tag 1 die and two from Soft Navy Cardstock. I stamped, embossed, masked, and inked the white tag "fronts" just like I did the panel for the card. Then I split up the stamped, colored, and die cut images among the two tags and adhered them to build "mini scenes". I added greetings to the front of each tag using sentiments from theSanta’s Wonderland stamp set. On the navy tag "backs", I stamped a greeting from the Happy Holidays stamp set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
I adhered the tags back to back and finished each with some red twine.
