Hello friends! Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Hollow Letters Stamp Set. I love alphabet stamps for customizing greetings. I created my own "ninja" birthday greeting with the Hollow Letters and paired them with a "Happy Birthday" from the Girlfriends Stamp Set and the ninjas from the Tiny Ninjas Stamp Set. These cute ninjas are flying high above the Cityscape holding onto their oversized birthday balloon die from the Rainbow High Creative Cuts die collection.
I die cut the balloon shape from watercolor cardstock using a Rainbow High Creative Cuts die collection die. I used letters from the Hollow Letters Stamp Set and a greeting from the Girlfriends Stamp Set to customize the balloon. I used Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to color in the letters and Peacock Feather Distress Ink watered down with water to color in the background of the balloon.
Next I colored in my background 5 1/2 x 4 1/2" watercolor background with Black Soot Distress Ink and spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer. I let the water sit a few seconds before blotting dry with a paper towel. I watered down Black Soot, Picket Fence, and Brushed Pewter Distress Paints and flicked them over my backgorund with a small paintbrush. I set aside the background to air dry while I worked on the bottom border and the ninjas.
I stamped two of the ninjas from the Tiny Ninjas Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I colored in the images with Copic Markers and die cut them with the coordinating Tiny Ninjas dies.
I die cut a Cityscape from black cardstock and backed with with yellow cardstock so it looks like some of the windows ligths are "one". I adhered the layered Cityscape to the bottom of my background panel and then adhered the balloon to the top of the scene with foam adhesive. I wrapped some thin twine around the ballono and then attached the ninjas with foam tape, securing the balloon string to their hands with Glossy Accents.
I finished the design by attaching the scene panel to a top fold card base and applying a scattering Pretty Pink Posh Mini Silver Star Confetti.
