Happy Sunday friends! Today I'm sharing another new card with December 2016 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The kit may have sold out but many of the products can be purchased individually or you can create something similar with the products you have on hand! I promised when I share THIS reindeer themed card that I'd share another card with the December Kit showcasing the Chibitronics lights included in the kit. If you've been on the fence about trying the Chibitronics lights this is the perfect opportunity to give them a try and see what they're all about!
I started by die cutting my frame and inside oval panel for my card. I die cut the frame from one of the Doodlebug patterned papers in the kit using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die and a Stitched Oval Die. I die cut an oval from smooth white cardstock to use for the middle of my frame.
On the white oval, I stamped the reindeer and packages from the Merry and Bright Stamp Set using masking paper to create one seamless image. I colored in the images with Copic Markers adding Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen to some of hte images and Glossy Accents to the nose. I added some gold Stickles Glitter Glue to the bells on Rudolf's collar.
I die cut an additional rectangle panel for the back of my light up scene and assembled the Chibitronics lights after marking where I wanted the light to go and where I wanted the battery to go. Please see the video for full details on how to assemble the light kit.
Once I had the light up elements in place I applied foam adhesive over the background panel to keep it the same height as the battery. This way the battery won't stay on full time either and will only come on when the word "light" in the greeting is pushed. I placed the frame over the foam adhesive background first and finally the oval.
I stamped the banner and greeting from the Merry and Bright Stamp Set on vellum with Versamark Ink and used white and red embossing powders to heat set the image. I fussy cut the banner and adhered it below the colored images as shown.
I added some heart stickers from the kit and applied a layer of Glossy Accents to them. Then I die cut a bow from one of the Doodlebug patterned papers using the Perfect Bow Die, assembled the bow and secured it to my card panel. I adhered the panel to a side fold card base to finish the design.
