It's time for my weekly video series, It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every Friday (this was shared on the Waffle Flower blog last week, I'm just late getting it shared here!) I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies.
Gift tags are one of my favorite things to make during the holiday season. I love adding a personalized touch to gift packages for friends and family. I love the look of the Tag Santa Add On for the Tag Starter Kit dies but I wanted to do a little something different than what I’ve seen. I’m a huge fan of white and gold and I thought it would be fun to take specialty papers and create elegant Santa gift tags! I used the dies from the Tag Starter Kit and Tag Santa Add On to die cut all the components for the front of the tag. Flocked, glitter, and foil papers immediately add that elegant look I was going for. For the back of the tags, I die cut smooth white cardstock using the tag shape and then added stamped and gold embossed greetings from the Homemade Christmas Stamp Set. Not a fan of white and gold? Try silver and white or even traditional Santa colors from specialty papers! The possibilities are endless!
I created the tags assembly line style. First I die cut the tag fronts from old Doodlebug flocked paper using the tag shape from the Tag Starter Kit. I die cut another tag from the old Doodlebug glittered white cardstock and then used the Santa beard from the Tag Santa Add On collection to die cut the beard shape.
I die cut the Santa belt from gold glittered cardstock and the belt buckle, button and tag hole reinforecement from gold foil cardstock.
For the back of the tags, I die cut another tag shape from smooth white cardstock. I used the MISTI to stamp the greetings from the Homemade Christmas Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
I adhered the tag front to the tag back and then adhered the elemetns to create the Santa's for each tag front. Because I used specialty papers, I adhered the elements with Ranger Multi Medium so they wouldn't fall off.
I finished each tag with some gold twine.
