Today I'm back with a fun technique that I'm excited to share with you, Stained Glass Die Cuts. Dimensional die cut Sketched Hearts (with gold foil cardstock adhered to fun foam), filled with Simon Says Stamp Cardstock colors and finished with a layer of Glossy Accents makes an eye-catching embellishment. The dimensional die cut creates the perfect "well" to fill with Glossy Accents.
For the background, I colored in the Simon Says Stamp Leaves Background Stamp with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, and Dried Marigold Distress Markers, spritzed the colored stamp with water from a Mini Mister and then stamped the leaf design on a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I let the inked background air dry. Once dry I used the MISTI to stamp a greeting from the Thankful Heart Stamp Set on the background using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink.
I die cut the background panel with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die. Vellum leaves were die cut using the Clustered Leaves Die and layered over the background.
An additional greeting from the Wild Beauty Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut the greeting into a thin strip and then adhered it above the script stamped greeting as shown.
Stick It was adhered to both sides of a piece of Fun Foam and then the backing paper was removed from one side and gold foil cardstock was adhered before die cutting the Sketched Hearts. I also die cut the Sketched Hearts shape from Cotton Candy Cardstock, Doll Pink Cardstock, and Schoolhouse Red Cardstock.
I adhered the dimensional gold foil Sketched Hearts shape to the left of the larger greeting as shown. Then I added the pink and red cardstock pieces for an inlay design. I replaced the small heart shape with the dimensional gold foil heart and then added a layer of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the solid red heart. Finally, I finished the hearts by adding Glossy Accents to the cardstock areas of each for the stained glass effect. The dimensional frame helps "hold" the Glossy Accents in place while it dries.
I trimmed the excess vellum overhanging the stitched rectangle with scissors and then adhered the panel to a side fold card base.
