Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Botanic Hello Water Colored Card

Hello! Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Botanic Hello Stamp Set. This gorgeous greeting looks greta with any color medium you choose to color it with. I love the big, bold design. I stamped and embossed the image/greeting with white embossing powder and water colored the design with Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

The bold "hello" floral greeting from the Botanic Hello Stamp Set was stamped on Bristol smooth cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting and flowers were watercolored with the Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and a Water Brush Pen.

I set aside the panel to air dry and stamped a phrase from the Botanic Hello Stamp Set on black cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed the phrase into a thin strip and adhered it below the watercolored greeting.

The stitched borders from the Botanic Hello Stamp Set were stamped along the top and bottom of the panel using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. The floral panel was adhered to a black cardstock mat and the whole thing was adhered to a white side fold card base with foam adhesive.

The design was finished with a scattering of white pearl gemstones.

Simon Says Stamp February 2017 Card Kit | "You & Coffee" Zipper Strip Card

Today I'm back with a new card share showcasing the February 2017 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The kit looks like it was super popular with the coffee and tea lover crown and has sold out but many of the components can be purchased individually. I am loving the Mama Elephant Zipper Die and I paired it with the components of the February Kit for this interactive zipper panel. The stamps from the Coffee & Tea Stamp Set work perfectly with this die!

For the coffee cups, I die cut the Coffee Love Die from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and added color to the components with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a Water Pen.

For the background of the card, I die cut several panels from the patterned papers and cardstock included in the kit using the Simon Says Stamp Basic Rectangles Dies. From the smallest patterned paper rectangles and white cardstock rectangle, I ran them through the Big Shot using the Mama Elephant Zipper Die. I carefully removed the patterned papers to fit above and below the zipper panel on the white cardstock rectangle as shown. On the "zipper", I stamped a greeting and the hearts from the Coffee & Tea Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and Simon Says Stamp Hot Lips Ink.

Using the extra patterned paper pieces as guides, I stamped "you & coffee" on the dark pink cardstock panel. This is the hidden message that is revealed when you pull the zipper strip below the coffee cups. (I mocked up the panel in the photo below, on the left, so you can see what it will look like when the zipper interactive element is pulled!).

I assembled the inlay style coffee cups above the zipper on the panel as shown and added several of the gold glitter heart enamel dots from the kit above the cups and several of the coffee beans around the bases of the cups to finish the top of the card. A bit of white silk ribbon wrapped around the bottom of the panel adds interest. 

The decorative zipper panel was adhered to the white cardstock rectangle, then the pink patterned rectangle before securing the whole thing to a white top fold card base.

Mama Elephant Just A Note | Good Vibes and Positive Thoughts Card

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the new Just A Note Stamp Set. This greeting stamp set works beautifully with so many other stamps. I paired the greetings with adorable images from the Otterly Adorable Stamp Set and a Dotted Detail frame die.

Several frames were die cut from smooth white cardstock using a Dotted Detail frame die. On one of the inside rectangles, I stamped the large script "Just A Note" greeting from the Just A Note Stamp Set with black ink. I slightly moved the panel a bit and stamped the greeting again with Versamark Ink and heat embossed the second image with clear embossing powder. The clear powder will allow the original stamped greeting to show through but will create a lovely shadow effect with the embossed resist ink.

Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks were combined over the embossed and stamped greeting. I spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel.

From another inside die cut rectangle, I die cut a water border using one of the Otterly Adorable Die. Salty Ocean Distress Ink colored the border and then it was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. The border was adhered along the bottom of the background panel as shown.

Another greeting from the Just A Note Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut the greeting into a thin strip and adhered along the bottom edge of the background panel.

An otter and a drink image were stamped from the Otterly Adorable Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink. The images were colored with Copic Markers and die cut with the coordinating Otterly Adorable Die. I tucked the otter and drink into the scene as shown. The water droplets image from the Otterly Adorable Stamp Set were stamped as shown and colored in with a Salty Ocean Distress Marker and finished with Glossy Accents.

A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Star Confetti finished the card design.

Mama Elephant | Otterly Adorable Card

Hello everyone! I'm a little late getting everything posted today as we were part of the big ice storm that hit the midwest and we were without internet for a couple days. We luckily had power for most of that time but there's been widespread power outage here and the electric company crews have been working around the clock to restore power! In fact, my kids have not had school all week and won't have school tomorrow either as they work to restore power to all the schools in our district. (This mama is ready for them to go back to school! You would have thought the world had ended when they realized we didn't have any internet or cable! ha!)

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is showcasing the amazing new Otterly Adorable Stamp Set and coordinating dies! This is the cutest stamp set and can be used for so many different cards! I paired the otters with the Park Avenue Frame and thought bubble die for this framed up scene card.

I stamped the otters and accessories from the Otterly Adorable Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock and colored them in with Copic Markers. I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and added detail to the eyes and noses with the Sakura black glaze pen and added Glossy Accents to the hearts and the heart on the envelope.

I die cut a Bristol smooth background panel with two of the borders from the Otterly Adorable Die Collection and die cut a frame from Bristol Cardstock using a Park Avenue Die. I applied color to the background and frame with Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. I spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and then blotted it dry with a paper towel. I added sun rays to the sky with the image from the Sunny Skies Stamp Set.

I adhered the background a white top fold card base, adding the otters in the die cut waves as shown.

I stamped a greeting from the Otterly Adorable Stamp Set on a vellum die cut thought bubble from the Park Avenue Die Collection using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. 

I adhered the thought bubble to the card base and adhered the frame with foam adhesive. I adhered the colored and die cut hearts and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to complete the design.

Mama Elephant January Stampede Blog Hop | Just A Note Card w/ Zipper Die + GIVEAWAY

Today I'm sharing an interactive card with the new Just A Note Stamp Set and Zipper Die. I love the Zipper Die for creating a hidden message with a fun interactive element to cards! The Zipper Die creates perforated lines that make it super easy to pull them open and reveal the hidden sentiment!

I die cut some Bristol Smooth Cardstock with the All Prettied Up Scalloped Rectangle die and then die cut another panel from Simon Says Stamp Blue Violet Cardstock. When creating a zipper panel I love the look of a contrasting color behind the top panel to really show off the interactive element. On the white panel I ran through the white scalloped rectangle with the Zipper Die to create the interactive zipper pull.
 
I stamped the large script greeting from the Just A Note Stamp Set with black ink and then stamped butterflies from the Butterfly Kisses Stamp Set all over the background with Versamark Ink, being sure to make some of the butterflies look like they were sitting on parts of the large greeting. I embossed with clear embossing powder so that the color of the embossing powder wouldn't cover up any of the black stamped greeting.
 
I watercolored the butterflies and background with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen and then dried the background with my heat tool (or you could let the background dry if you're not in a hurry!). I stamped the arrow and "open here" from the Just A Note Stamp Set on the front zipper panel to indicate where the recipient should open the zipper.
 
I flicked watered down Brushed Pewter and Picket Fence Distress Paints over the background with a small paintbrush and let the background completely dry.

I used a pencil to mark on my background panel where the zipper is on the front panel and then stamped the hidden greeting from the Just A Note Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat set the greeting with white embossing powder. 
 
I adhered the front panel over the hidden panel and then attached the entire thing to a white side fold card base, finishing the design with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

You all have probably already guessed by now that I'm a huge fan of Valentine's crafting, colors, etc. The February Simon Says Stamp card kits are historically some of my very favorite and the 2017 Card Kit is no exception! The colors and products are phenomenal and the Coffee & Tea Stamp Set is one of my all-time favorites! I used images from the stamp set to create a water colored background for my card share today. A greeting stamped and embossed on vellum allows you to still see the pretty pattern underneath.

I stamped and embossed the coffee cup image from the Coffee & Tea Stamp Set all over on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat setting with fine detail white embossing powder. I watercolored the images and background with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen. Once the design was completely dry, I stamped the small heart from the Coffee & Tea Stamp Set in the "white spaces" in the background using Simon Says Stamp Hot Lips Ink.

For the sentiment, I stamped a greeting and the trio of open hearts from the Coffee & Tea Stamp Set on a strip of vellum die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Heart Banner (I'm not using the banner shape here, instead I wanted the stitching detail along the top and bottom edge of the greeting strip). I heat embossed the greeting with fine detail white embossing powder. I love adding a stamped and embossed greeting over a background like this so that the design is still visible through the vellum but muted enough that the greeting is still easy to read!

I die cut the water colored background and the Surf Blue Cardstock from the kit with two Simon Says Stamp Basic Rectangles Dies to create the perfect sized mats for my card. I adhered the vellum strip over the patterned background, hiding liquid adhesive behind the embossed areas and trimmed the excess off each side. I adhered the water colored panel to the blue panel with foam adhesive and attached the whole thing to a top fold card base. I finished the card with some of the enamel dots from the kit.

Waffle Flower Crafts It's In The Details | Embossed Resist with Matching Envelope

It's time for my weekly video series, It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every Friday I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies.

Today I'm sharing an embossed resist card and matching embossed envelope with the new Waffle Flower Enveloper Little Birdie and Enveloper Hello stamp sets. This card is a breeze to make and how amazing (and simple!) is the coordinating envelope?!!! I love getting a pretty card in the mail wrapped up in a pretty envelope!

I stamped the border from the Enveloper Little Birdie along the bottom edge of a piece of smooth white cardstock and stamped another small floral border image along the top from the Enveloper Hello stamp set using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. I applied Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, and Lucky Clover Distress Inks over the embossed areas, blending to get the beautiful transition of color. I love how the bright white embossing stands out against the colorful inks! I spritzed the panel with water from a Distress Sprayer, the ink reacts with the water, wicking away the ink for great distressed areas. I blotted the background dry with a paper towel and then adhered the panel to a side fold card base with foam adhesive.

I stamped a greeting from the Enveloper Hello stamp set on black cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed the greeting into a thin strip and adhered it to my card base as shown. I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feathers, Lavender Moon, and Sparkling Clear sequins adhered with glue dots.

For the matching envelope, I stamped borders from the Enveloper Hello stamp set  and the lines and "to" from the Enveloper Little Birdie stamp set on an Audrey Blue Metallic Envelope using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder.

Simon Says Stamp Hey Love Blog Hop | Embossed Resist & Dimensional Greetings Valentine's Cards + GIVEAWAY

Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Hey Love Blog Hop!

Happy Friyay! Today we are celebrating the new Hey Love Release. I used several of the new stamps and dies from the release for this set of three cards I'm sharing here today. I created a set of three embossed resist cards using the new Emma Background Stamp, Elizabeth Background Stamp, Love Is Background Stamp, Love Stamp Set, Love Dies, and Happy Valentine's Day Die as well as a few older Simon Says Stamp products. Candied Apple and Dried Marigold Distress Inks is my favorite color combination for love-themed cards.

I stamped the Emma Background Stamp and the Elizabeth Background Stamp on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Powder. I applied Candied Apple and Dried Marigold Distress Inks over the design for the embossed resist look. I buffed the excess ink off the embossed areas with a dry paper towel. I inked up the Love Is Background Stamp with both the Candied Apple and Dried Marigold Distress Inks and stamped the text over the embossed resist background. I spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and then blotted the water dry with a paper towel.

I applied Stick It to both sides of a piece of Fun Foam and then adhered gold metallic cardstock to one side. I die cut the Love Die and the Mini Hearts from the dimensional material and adhered them to the card as shown. I love creating my own dimensional stickers and I love how the gold metallic looks with the soft peachy-pink combination of Distress Inks.

I die cut banners from vellum using Basic Banners Dies. I stamped greetings from the Love Stamp Set on the banners using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I adhered the banners to the cards as shown, hiding liquid adhesive behind the embossed areas on the banners.

I adhered foam adhesive on the back of the panels, leaving a small space to wrap some thin twine around the card panel and tie in a bow on the front of each card. I secured the knot on each with a dab of Glossy Accents.

I finished each card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear 6mm and 4mm sequins.

To mix it up a bit, I changed the dimensional greeting on my last card and used the awesome Happy Valentine's Day Die.

Waffle Flower Winter 2017 Release NOW AVAILABLE

Hey friends!

I'm popping in here today to let you know that the Winter 2017 Waffle Flower Release is now available! Awesome new stamps and dies sets plus some great stand alone dies that are fantastic basics.

What Products I'm Currently Crushing On (CHA releases) - January 10, 2017

Happy Tuesday friends!

I just packed up and shipped off boxes of cards and layouts to Waffle Flower Crafts and Lawn Fawn for the CHA show! I can't wait to share my projects with you when the new products are released! (And, yes, my scrapbooker friends, I managed to turn out not one, but two layouts for Lawn Fawn! If you're going to show you're going to get to see them first! (wink, wink!)
