It's time for my weekly video series, It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every Friday I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies.
Today's card share features an adorable sloth from the brand new Hey Girl Stamp Set, colored with the no line watercolor technique. I love the look of no lines and it works perfectly with these images. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers but you could use other watercolors, Distress Markers, even do no line coloring with Copics or other markers for a similar but different look! So many possibilities for the no line look!
To create a no-line watercolored effect, I first stamped the hanging sloth and flowers images from the new Hey Girl Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with the light Coffee Loves Milk Dye Ink. This light ink works great as a guideline on where to lay down color. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen to blend out the color. Once the ink is applied, you don’t even see the original stamped lines anymore! Don’t forget that once the design is completely dry to go back in and draw in the eyes, noses, mouths, etc. on any faces.
A light blue watered down background adds to the sky effect and a Chunky Grass Border colored with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks blends in with the rest of the watercolored scene. The card was finished with a stamped greeting from the Hibiscus Stamp Set and a frame die cut with smooth white cardstock using dies from the Lacy Layers Die Collection.
