It's time for my weekly video series, It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every Friday I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies.
Today I'm sharing more hand stitching ideas for creating Valentine's Cards featuring Waffle Flower stamps and dies. A simple greeting stamped in the center of the large heart from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set stamped with My Pleasure and Tickled Pink Inks and a decorative mat die cut using a Lacy Layers Die finish off these clean and simple Valentine’s cards. Try switching up the stitching designs and thread colors for greeting cards for lots of different occasions!
Instead of filling the heart shape for these cards, I focused on defining the hearts by filling in the background with stitching going from the heart to the rectangle shape, stitching the outline, and layering two stitched hearts.
I die cut the Waffle Flower Stitched Hearts Dies and the Pinking Layers Dies from smooth white cardstock for these cards. I used the two largest hearts from the Stitched Hearts Dies and the second largest Pinking Layers Dies. The die cut holes make stitching on paper so super quick and easy! If you're not crazy about stitching on paper, you could try the same technique with felt.
I used an assortment of crochet thread colors from Hobby Lobby for my stitching in red, hot pink, and light pink.
The first card features a negative stitched heart design with stitching going from the heart shape to the holes in the rectangle shape. Greetings from the Balloon Messages Stamp Set were stamped in the center of the heart using Waffle Flower My Pleasure and Tickled Pink Inks.
One of the easiest ways to create a hand stitched card with the Waffle Flower Stitched Hearts Dies and the Pinking Layers Dies is to stitch the shape with a back stitch or go in and out each hole for the "every other" look. I used both on the card below. These are fast and easy!
The back stitch design is perfect for overlapping hearts as well. I used both the small and medium hearts from the Waffle Flower Stitched Hearts Dies for my final card design. I love the look of more than one heart for double the fun!
