Simon Says Stamp | Hope Blooms Shaker Card

Today I'm sharing a clean and simple floral shaker card featuring the Simon Says Stamp Hope Blooms Stamps Set and coordinating dies and the Wonky Rectangles and Wonky Hearts dies. The brand new Chameleon Sequins are the perfect compliment to the design and make for beautiful shaking!

The flowers and leaves from the Hope Blooms Stamps Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks were inked over the shapes for embossed resist. The same ink colors were stamped with the layering images from the Hope Blooms Stamps Set for a tone-on-tone look. The coordinating Hope Blooms Dies were used to die cut the images.

For the shaker frame, a Wonky Rectangles die and Wonky Hearts die were used to create the frame. Another rectangle was die cut to be used for the backer of the shaker. Greetings from the Hope Blooms Stamps Set were stamped on a transparency using StazOn Jet Black Ink. The transparency was adhered to the back of the frame and then two layers of foam adhesive were used to create a well for the shaker sequins. The shaker was filled with Chameleon Sequins and then the shaker was backed with the other rectangle.

The shaker was adhered to a white side fold card base and the flowers and leaves were adhered to the card as shown. Glossy Accents was used to embellish the center of the flowers.

Simon Says Stamp | Embossing Paste + Stencils 2 Ways

Hello! Today I'm sharing a coupe of ways to use embossing paste with stencils. I'm using the gorgeous new Circular Lace Stencil from Simon Says Stamp but you can achieve similar looks with many different stencil designs. I'm pairing the new stencil with the previously released Stripe Greetings Stamp Set and On The Edge Thank You Die. Let's get started!

The first technique I'm sharing today is applying white embossing paste through the stencil over a Distress Inked background (the card on the right). Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks were adhered to Bristol Smooth Cardstock using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer, and blotted dry with a paper towel. White Embossing Paste was applied through the Circular Lace Stencil for a soft and beautiful look. The thin layer of embossing paste almost picks up a bit of the color underneath for a fantastic look of texture.

The second technique is to add color to white embossing paste with those same Distress Ink colors and to apply the colored embossing paste through the Circular Lace Stencil  for a colorful design on a white background.

*Make sure when you're creating with embossing paste that you clean your stencil and tools right away with hot water to keep the paste from drying onto your tools.

Once the backgrounds were completely dry (they dry really quickly), I die cut part of the greeting from white and black cardstock using the On The Edge Thank You Die and finishing the greetings with a stamped sentiment from the Stripe Greetings Stamp Set. 

Simple greetings and an assortment of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Carnation Pink, Ripened Pumpkin, Dandelion Yellow, and Sweet Lilac finish these cards.

Mama Elephant Designer Series | Custom Die Cut Frames Background (Framed Tags Chelsea )

Hello! Today I have a Designer Series card featuring a custom die cut frame background with the Framed Tags Chelsea Dies. A good basic die set is essential for creating fantastic custom backdrops and backgrounds for cards. The large scallop rectangle die in the Chelsea Collection is the perfect base with it's stitching and dot detail. For my card share today I used the circle die from the set to create custom windows in the background for the cute Three Amigos and Dos Amigos to pop out of!

The background was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the Framed Tags Chelsea Dies. The circle die was used three times to create three windows in the scalloped rectangle. The edges of the rectangle from the stitching lines to the scallop were masked off with post it tape and then Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks were applied to the background for an ombre blue effect. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. When the post it tape is removed the panel gives the illusion of a Distress Inked panel matted on a white scallop rectangle but it's all one piece! This is one of my favorite ways to get a "faux matted" look.

The images from the Three Amigos Stamp Set and the Dos Amigos Stamp Set (this is a collaboration stamp set with Hampton Art) were stamped on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock with a black ink for Copic Coloring and colored with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating Three Amigos Dies and Dos Amigos Dies. Additional embellishment images from the Three Amigos Stamp Set were stamped and colored in as well to add to the design.

The critters were adhered to appear to be popping out from the die cut circles and the rest of the images were adhered as shown. The whole panel was adhered to a white top fold card base with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

The design was finished with a scattering of sequins and confetti, black gel pen to the eyes, and Glossy Accents on the hearts and noses of the critters.

Mama Elephant | Graduation Thank You Cards

Hello! Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. I finished up some graduation thank you cards for my oldest son using some of my favorite Mama Elephant stamps and dies and wanted to share them with you. While I made these graduation thank you's, this same design could be made for many different occasions just by switching up the accessory images and/or greetings. I made these assembly line style and while I didn't have a ton to make, the same steps could be taken to create even more cards. If you're wanting to make it go a bit faster, maybe use images that don't need coloring or use a few less "accessory" images!

For the background, Bristol Smooth Cardstock was die cut using a stitched rectangle Index Card Die. Then greetings from the Many Thanks Stamp Set and Thank You Wishes Stamp Set was stamped in the upper right corner of the rectangles using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks were applied over the stitched rectangles as shown. The backgrounds were spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel.

Salty Ocean Distress Ink was painted in to the outline greeting using a water brush pen. This makes the bold greeting really stand out!

The box from the All Prettied Up Die Set was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and inked with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks. The box was adhered to the card base as shown.

The bear, graduation cap, diploma, stack of books, and apple from the Page Huggers Stamp Set was stamped on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. The images were die cut with the coordinating Page Huggers Dies and adhered to the background panels as shown.

Each background panel was adhered to a 4 Bar White Card base to finish the design. The smaller cards are perfect for thank you notes!

Waffle Flower Crafts It's In The Details | Pawsome Birthday Shaker Card

It's time for my weekly video series, It's In The Details, for the Waffle Flower Inspiration Team. Every week I will share a new video featuring amazing Waffle Flower Stamps and Dies. 

A border of Pawsome cuties make the perfect birthday shaker card! A frame and background were created with the awesome Stitched Layers Dies. Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac Distress Inks were applied to the frame and background using Mini Ink Blending Tools and spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotting them dry with a paper towel.  The background panel was stamped with hearts from the Pawsome Stamp Set using the Blueprint Sketch Ink.

Greetings from the Pawsome Stamp Set were stamped on an acetate panel using white StazOn Ink and adhered to the back of the shaker frame.

The dogs, cats, balloons, and birthday hats from the Pawsome Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers and then die cut with the coordinating Pawsome Dies. The images were adhered along the bottom edge of the front of the shaker frame.

The balloons were adorned with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen and finished with a layer of Glossy Accents.

Two layers of foam adhesive was adhered around all four sides of the back of the shaker frame and then filled with confetti and sequins to finish the design.

Simon Says Stamp Cherished Blog Hop | Gold Embossed Backgrounds with Metallic Watercoloring Cards (GIVEAWAY)

For my share today I created two cards with gold embossed backgrounds using the new Rebecca Lace Background Stamp, added watercoloring to parts of the design with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors, die cut vellum hearts using a Wonky Hearts Die, and stamped greetings on the vellum hearts with the Thoughtful Messages Stamp Set. I even added a stamped phrase border from the Envelope Greetings Stamp Set on some Metallic Copper Envelopes to match the cards! Adding metallic pigments to dark cardstock is one of my current favorite looks and it's so easy. Let's get started...

The Rebecca Lace Background Stamp was stamped slightly off center on Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with the Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder. This is s super intricate background design and is absolutely stunning as is however I decided to take the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors pigments and watercolor the white gold and red gold colors from the set into parts of the embossed design for an even more beautiful look!

For the greeting on these cards, I die cut a medium heart from vellum using a Wonky Hearts Die and stamped greetings from the Thoughtful Messages Stamp Set on each using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder and White Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The greeting hearts were adhered to the center of the design on the backgrounds as shown and each card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pale Gold and Copper Penny.

For the Metallic Copper Envelopes, border greetings from the Envelope Greetings Stamp Set was stamped along the back flaps with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with White Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

Lawn Fawn | Magic Color Slider "Make A Wish Upon A Star" Card

Hello friends! I absolutely adore the new Magic Color Slider Die Set from Lawn Fawn. I shared this shark themed underwater scene a couple weeks ago HERE and today I thought I'd share a starry night magic color slider with you! I was super intimidated by the thought of creating my own magic color slider so having the Magic Color Slider Dies makes it so easy to make an interactive color slider card because all of the components are right there for you! Yay!

For the background I created an embossed design with the Snowy Backdrop Die by using an embossing "sandwich" in my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I used the number 1 tab, the bottom cutting plate, the die facing UP, Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Cardstock, the silicone mat, and finally the impression pad. Instead of cutting out all the little stars and circles, it embosses instead! Yay! 

The edges of the background were inked up with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks and then the embossed areas were colored with the white gold Gansai Tambi Starry Colors and a water brush pen.

The The Magic Color Slider Dies were used to die cut the components from Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Cardstock, Smooth White Cardstock and a transparency. Images from the Upon A Star Stamp Set were stamped and masked on both the white background (goes on the inside of the magic color slider) and the transparency window. Make sure and use StazOn ink for the transparency so that your ink doesn't smear!

On the background panel, I colored in the critters with Copic Markers and then inked over the stamped and embossed constellations and masked critters with the Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks. Once the masks were removed the background was adhered to the inside of the magic color slider. The slider track was adhered to the inside and then the transparency was lined up and adhered to the front of the magic color slider. 

The slider was placed inside and "pull me" from the Push Here Stamp Set was stamped to the tab at the top. The slider was secured and then the front was stamped with stars from the Upon A Star Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Yeti White Pigment Ink and Delicata Silver Ink.

Cloud borders were die cut from smooth white cardstock and vellum using the Puffy Cloud Borders Dies. The vellum border was adhered to the background, then the magic color slider was adhered.

On the smooth white cloud border, greetings from the Upon A Star Stamp Set were stamped with Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Ink and Delicata Silver Ink, then the border was adhered with foam adhesive. 

A scattering of sequins and confetti adorn the sky and some Simon Says Stamp All Eyes On You stickers finish off the cute bunny!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Celebration Balloons Happy Happy Birthday Pop Up Card

Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is featuring the new Celebration Balloons Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I paired these adorable balloon images with the Party Animals chicks and bunny and created a pop up on the inside of the card for the design on the front to continue on to the inside of the card!

For the front of the card, a panel was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock using a Peek A Frame Die and stenciled with the MFT Cloud Stencil Die and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. The single layer is perfect for not creating additional bulky layers. 

Images from the Celebration Balloons Stamp Set and Party Animals Stamp Set were stamped on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock, colored with Copic Markers and die cut with the coordinating Celebration Balloons dies and Party Animals dies before being adhered to the front of the card as shown.

Balloon strings were drawn with the Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen, a scattering of Party Animals stars were stamped and colored and a Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling clear sequins add a fun confetti look. The Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen add shimmery detail to the balloons.

On the inside, another panel was created from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and stenciled and inked cut like the front. A Pop Up Trio Die creates the interactive element and a Landscape Trio die softens the bottom edge of the design.

More images from the Celebration Balloons Stamp Set and Party Animals Stamp Set were stamped on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock, colored with Copic Markers and die cut with the coordinating Celebration Balloons dies and Party Animals dies and then adhered to the inside of the card.

The inside was embellished just like the front with balloon strings, a scattering of Party Animals stars, Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling clear sequins, and the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over the balloons.

Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit | Metallic Florals Wedding Card + GIVEAWAY

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing another card featuring components from the June 2017 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The kit has sold out but you can still create this card by using the stamp set (available for individual purchase HERE) and your own patterned paper and cardstock or by picking up the Wedding Bliss 6x6 Paper Pad and some Black Cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. I love the look of metallics on black cardstock and the large floral image from the Floral Bliss Stamp Set if perfect for watercoloring with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

I trimmed down a piece of Black Cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and stamped the large floral image from the Floral Bliss Stamp Set on both sides of the cardstock as shown using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The images were watercolored with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors and a wter brush pen. Once completely colored in, I set the background aside to completely dry.

I absolutely love the way this turned out. I often color my florals "true to life" but I am really digging this metallic image. This makes for a very elegant card perfect for not only weddings but anniversaries, birthdays, sympathy cards, and so much more. By switching out the greeting, this card design could be used for a multitude of occasions!

A greeting from the Floral Bliss Stamp Set was stamped on Black Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. I cut the greeting into a thin strip and adhered it to the center of a strip of script text paper from the Echo Park Wedding Bliss 6x6 Paper Pad. The strips were adhered over the center of the background panel with foam adhesive.

The design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Metallic Copper Penny, Liquid Mercury, and Ivory Seashell and then rounding the corners of the card with a 1/2" corner rounder.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | The Cat's Meow "Congrats" Card

Welcome! Today the Mama Elephant Design Team is featuring the brand new The Cat's Meow Stamp Set and coordinating dies! I paired the awesome big border image from The Cat's Meow with greetings and balloons from Celebration Balloons for this celebration greeting card.

The big cat border from the The Cat's Meow Stamp Set and the balloons from the Celebration Balloons Stamp Set were stamped on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink, colored with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating The Cat's Meow dies and Celebration Balloons dies.

For the background, Candied Apple Distress Ink and Dried Marigold Distress Ink were applied to Bristol Smooth Cardstock with a Mini Ink Blending Tool, spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. Balloon strings were drawn with the Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen and a ruler. I love the glittery "strings" and how they don't overpower the design.

The images were adhered to the background and "yay" from The Cat's Meow Stamp Set was stamped with Candied Apple Distress Ink. The balloons were colored with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and finished with a layer of Glossy Accents.

The front was finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh gold mini star confetti and rounded corners.

The inside of the card was stamped with another greeting from the Celebration Balloons Stamp Set.
