The brand new Sweets Card Stamp Set and coordinating dies from the Summer 2017 Release is so much fun! Okay, I'm just going to say it, I love everything about the Summer 2017 Waffle Flower Release! I paired these adorable images with a big, bold greeting from the Eat Cake Stamp Set and a stitched border using my favorite Pinking Layers Dies for this bright and colorful birthday greeting!
For the background, I used a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and stamped the large Eat Cake Stamp Set greeting on the background with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron Distress Inks were applied over the background for embossed resist. I spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted it dry with a paper towel. Hearts from the Sweets Card Stamp Set were stamped on the background using the same colors of Distress Inks. I set aside the background to air dry. Once dry, I ran the panel through a Big Shot using the largest Pinking Layers Die and hand stitched the border using double up #10 weight pink crochet thread.
The images from the Sweets Card Stamp Set were stamped on Neenah White Smooth Cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies. The images were adhered to the background as shown to build the sweets scene!
I finished the images with a black glaze pen for the eyes and detail on the dresses, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the candies, and a layer of Glossy Accents to the glass candy jar.
For the inside of the card, I stamped an additional greeting from the Sweets Card Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and finished with a scattering of small and large hearts stamped with the same Distress Inks as used on the front of the card.
