Mama Elephant Designer Series | Little Boy Agenda

Hello friends! Today I have a Mama Elephant Designer Series project featuring the Little Boy Agenda Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I've again used the Grid Window to frame up these images and added a sentiment with the Script Thanks Die, Thank You Wishes Stamp Set, and Framed Tags Park Avenue thought bubble die. A rainbow inked background is the perfect backdrop for these cute little guys!

Images from the Little Boy Agenda Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. The images were die cut with the coordinating Little Boy Agenda Dies and set aside to work on the background.

A background was inked on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. 

The Grid Window was die cut from smooth white cardstock and adhered over the rainbow background with thin foam adhesive.

The Script Thanks was die cut from smooth white cardstock and inked with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink for an ombre light to dark look.

A thought bubble from the Framed Tags Park Avenue Die Collection was die cut from black cardstock and stamped with a sentiment from the Thank You Wishes Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The thanks greeting and thought bubble were adhered to the card as shown. The little boys were adhered to the windows using thin foam adhesive and the card was finished with Nuvo Crystal Glaze applied to the script greeting and some of the elements of the other images.

Lawn Fawn | For You Deer Add On Bear Birthday Bookmark Card

Hello! Today I want to share how to use a Christmas Holiday themed stamp set for a non-holiday themed card! This little polar bear is actually a bookmark made with the Lawn Fawn For You, Dear Stamps and Dies and Add On Dies and while it's part of the card design peeking through the circle opening, it can be removed to be used as a bookmark!

The base of the card was die cut from Narwhal Cardstock using an Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die. To create the window, the same rectangle die and an Outside In Stitched Scalloped Circle Die were die cut from Lawn Fawn Mermaid Cardstock. I masked off the outer and inner scalloped edges of the aqua panel and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Gingham Background with Mermaid Ink for a tone-on-tone look. The aqua panel was adhered to the card base with foam adhesive, leaving room for the bookmark to slide in and out.

The bookmark was die cut from Lawn Fawn Mermaid Cardstock using a For You Deer Add On Die and stamped with a greeting from the For You Deer Stamp Set with black ink. The polar bear front and back were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating For You Deer Dies. The bear front and back were adhered to the bookmark as shown. I drew in eyelashes on the bear with a fine tip marker, added detail to the eyes and nose with a black glaze pen and added a bow and a heart using images from the Yay Kites Stamp Set. 

Interactive greetings from the Push Here Stamp Set were stamped with Yeti White Pigment Ink to let the recipient know that the card is interactive! 

A banner from the Bannertastic Stamp Set was stamped with black and Mermaid Ink on smooth white cardstock and a greeting from the For You Deer Stamp Set was stamped on top. The banner was die cut with the coordinating Bannertastic Die and adhered to the card with foam adhesive. Butterflies from the Chirpy Chirp Chirp Stamp Set complete the front of the card.

Greetings from the Happy Happy Happy Stamp Set were stamped with Mermaid and Fresh Lavender Inks inside the card to finish the sentiment and a butterfly from Chirpy Chirp Chirp Stamp Set finishes the design.

Honey Bee Stamps | Ocean Scene Builder Stenciled Background

Happy Weekend Crafty Friends! I'm thrilled you're joining me today. Stencils + a bit of ink are a fantastic way to build a dimensional-looking but flat background. The Ocean Scene Builder stencils from Honey Bee Stamps are incredible. Like these are my new favorite stencils, hands down! You can create awesome underwater scenes with just a little ink. So fun!

The background is what creates the magical scenery for these beautiful images. I blended Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks on Bristol Smooth cardstock for the background. The same three colors of Distress Oxide Ink plus Lawn Fawn Yeti White Pigment Ink were used through the stencils for different elements and to build the underwater ocean scene.

Greetings from the Mermaid Song Stamp Set were stamped along the top of the background with Simon Says Stamp Black Dye Ink.

Images from the Honey Bee Stamps Under The Sea Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers. The images were die cut with the coordinating Honey Bee Stamps Under The Sea Dies and adhered to the scene as shown. Details were added with a white opaque pen, stardust glitter pen, and Glossy Accents.

Mama Elephant | Little Cat & Dog Agenda Thank You Card

Hello friends. I'm so glad you're joining me today! Framing up elements on a card is always a great design element that instantly provides a framework for a card. When working with smaller images especially, I find giving them a frame or "window" makes for a much better card layout and gives all those little images somewhere to go. That's the case with the Thank You card I'm sharing here today. The Mama  Elephant Little Cat Agenda and Little Dog Agenda images are instantly framed up with the Grid Window Die and all that's needed to complete the design is a greeting! Let's get started!

For the background, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks were applied to Bristol Smooth Cardstock using an Ink Blending Tool. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. The panel was adhered to a white top fold card base.

The Grid Window Die was used to die cut smooth white cardstock. Scrapbook Adhesives Thin foam squares were used to adhered the frame to the card base. The low profile of these foam adhesive squares give a bit of dimension but are thin enough that the card still fits easily in an envelope.

A label was die cut from Black Licorice Cardstock using a Framed Tags Chelsea Die. Greetings from the Many Thanks Stamp Set were stamped on the label with Versmark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Cat and dog images from the Little Cat Agenda and Little Dog Agenda stamp sets were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating Little Cat Agenda Dies and Little Dog Agenda Dies. The images and greeting label were adhered to the card front using foam adhesive squares.

Waffle Flower Crafts | Metallic Lacy Flowers

Today I'm sharing one of my very favorite techniques, using metallic water colors to color in images embossed on dark cardstock. Metallic Watercolors, like the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors show up beautifully on darker cardstock. 

I stamped the Lacy Flowers images on a dark gray cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with a platinum embossing powder. The designs were repeated over the cardstock strip to give the illusion of a larger piece of paper being trimmed down for a card. Creating my own backgrounds is one of my favorite things to do! Once the images were embossed, I used a water brush pen to pick up the Starry Colors and paint or “color in” the different areas of the embossed Lacy Flowers. The metallic sparkle look is striking against a dark background. Once dry, the watercolored strip was adhered to a white side fold card base. 

A greeting from the Lacy Flowers Stamp Set was stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder above the top of the strip. Two thin black strips of cardstock were used to “frame up” the strip. For the dimensional greeting, gold foil cardstock was adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and the With Love Die was used to die cut a beautiful scripty greeting! The greeting was adhered to the card as shown to complete the sentiment and the cards were finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in metallic colors of Liquid Mercury, Copper Penny, and Pale Gold.

Mama Elephant | Halloween Favor Bags

Hello friends! I can't get enough of the awesome Mama Elephant Favor Bags and Add Ons. The newest Halloween Add Ons, are perfect not only for adorning the Favor Bags but for cards, scrapbook pages, decor, and more! 

Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud cardstock was used to die cut each Favor Bags. Greetings from the Bootastic Stamp Set was stamped at the top of each bag front using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The Halloween Favor Bag Add Ons were die cut from solid cardstock colors and assembled as shown. A different Halloween monster was adhered to the front of each bag. Detail was added to the images with a white opaque pen and Glossy Accents on the eyes.

Each bag was finished with twine tied into a bow and secured to the top of the bag with a mini clothespin. Gift tags from the Favor Bags were die cut from smooth white cardstock and the "to/from" greeting from the Surprise Sentiments was stamped on each mini tag.

Simon Says Stamp | Dancing Fruits in Distress Oxide Inks

Hello friends! I'm so glad you're joining me today! I'm sharing a fun card featuring the Simon Says Stamp Dancing Fruits Stamp Set, Thoughtful Messages Stamp Set, and Script Thanks Dies. Distress Oxide Inks work perfectly with the Rock 'n Roll Technique to blend multiple colors on a single solid image for multi-colored fruits.

I trimmed a piece of smooth white cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" for the background. Images from the Dancing Fruits Stamp Set were inked with a combination of two Distress Oxide Ink colors by first inking the stamp with the lighter of the two colors and the "rolling" the edges of the image in the darker color and then stamping the image on the background. The two shades give each image a multi-colored look that instantly adds depth and interest to the stamped images!

The color combinations of Distress Oxide Inks used are as follows:

Lemons: Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey

Pears: Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint

Apples: Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple

Pineapples: Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey

Leaves: Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Lucky Clover

The Script Thanks Dies outline was die cut three times from smooth white cardstock and adhered one on top of another for dimension. The greeting was die cut from black cardstock and adhered on top. A sentiment from the Thoughtful Messages Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being cut into a thin strip and adhered underneath the die cut word.

A scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black complete the design.

Mama Elephant | Plushoween Favor Bags

Hello! Today I'm sharing some Halloween Favor Bags featuring the new Plushoween Stamps and coordinating dies based on THESE Valentine's Favor Bags I made back in February. I love the look of a little window (so you can see what's inside) and a sweet critter peeking out of the opening! The Plushoween images are perfect for adorning some spooky themed treat bags!

The Favor Bags were die cut from Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud Cardstock and the scalloped rectangle panel was die cut from Black Licorice Cardstock. The stitched heart from the Favor Bag Collection was used to die cut a window in both the panel and favor bag. On the black panel, the spider web and a greeting from Plushoween were stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Gift tags were die cut from orange cardstock using the Favor Bag die and a greeting form Plushoween was stamped on each with black ink.

Images from the Plushoween Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating Plushoween Dies.

The large critter image was adhered behind the heart opening in each black cardstock panel and then the panel was backed with a piece of clear acetate before the panel was adhered to the Favor Bag.

The Favor Bags were assembled and finished by adding some paper shred inside, some Halloween candies and then tying each bag closed with Halloween twine adorned with the stamped gift tag.

Honey Bee Stamps | Create A Mermaid Scene Card

I'm a huge fan of creating scenes on my cards and the new stamps, dies, and stencils from the latest Under The Sea Release are perfect for creating all kinds of fun scene cards!

To build this ocean ocean, I started with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and inked sun using the the Sunburst Layering Stencils, Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink, Wild Honey Distress Ink, and Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. After inking the sunburst, I removed the stencils and then inked over the whole background with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and then spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted it dry.

For the ocean wave borders, I stamped the Ocean Borders stamp on Bristol Smooth Cardstock twice with Versamark Ink and heat embossed the images with white embossing powder before adding color to the waves with the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. The borders were die cut with the coordinating Ocean Border Die and adhered along the bottom edge of the background panel as shown.

Greetings from the Mermaid Song Stamp Set were stamped on the background  using black ink and clouds were die cut from vellum using the Partly Cloudy Dies and adhered as shown. The clouds "fill in" the sky but the vellum allows for bits of the sunshine to show through even though it's somewhat muted.

Images from the Ocean Bliss Stamp Set and Mermaid Song Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using black ink and colored with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies.

The mermaid was tucked between the two ocean borders to appear to be sitting out on a rock in the middle of the ocean. A message in a bottle floats in the water and starfish and a crab are hanging out next to the mermaid on her rock.

A scattering of Clear Bubbles Sequins, Bokeh Lights Confetti Mix, and stamped and colored hearts from the Mermaid Song stamp set finish off the card.

Waffle Flower Crafts | Marble Backgrounds w/ Faux Stained Glass Accents

Happy Tuesday friends! A layered marble background is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful faux stained glass butterfly accent, don't ya think? The Waffle Flower Layering Marble Stamp Set has become a go-to background stamp set for me. Gorgeous custom marble backgrounds in any color combination you could need just by changing up your ink colors!

I layered Simon Says Stamp Fog and Stone Inks and finished with Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder on smooth white cardstock for the third layer of the Waffle Flower Layering Marble Stamp Set. 

A greeting from the Lotus Stamp Set was stamped with black ink directly on the background.

 

Butterfly accents were die cut from a sandwich of gold foil cardstock, Stick It, and Fun Foam using the Pretty Butterflies Dies. The gold foil is the perfect outline for a faux stained glass look.

The dimensional butterflies were adhered to the cards as shown and the open areas filled with Glossy Accents. For a more opaque look, consider filling the openings with colorful Nuvo Crystal drops instead of clear.

The cards were finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pale Gold, Silver Lining, and Oyster Grey.
