Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a BEE Courageous encouragement shaker card to share with you! Hexagon Plate Dies make the perfect "beehive" for the adorable little bees from the Busy Bees Stamp Set. I'll be sharing ideas on how to make stencils out of your dies to achieve dimension without the added bulk of more layers. Let's get started!
Stencils were created by die cutting printer paper with the Hexagon Middle and Base Plates. Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks were applied through the stencils onto yellow cardstock that had been die cut with the Hexagon Stipple Plate. I created two identical panels. From one of the panels a Hexagon Frames Dies was used to die cut a window opening for the front of the shaker. The other panel will be the shaker back.
From black cardstock a frame was created by die cutting two of the Hexagon Frames together. I adhered the frame around the opening in the front of the shaker. A frame really gives the shaker window a nice, finished look.
The word "courageous" from the Bee-You-Tiful Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped to a piece of transparency that was adhered behind the shaker window opening with StazOn Ink. I like to add my greetings to the shaker window instead of inside the window so that they are visible at all times! To complete the greeting, the word "Bee" was die cut from cardstock adhered to Fun Foam using a Bee-You-Tiful Die. I inked the word with black ink and adhered it to the window as shown.
Bees and hearts from the Busy Bees Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with black ink and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating Busy Bees Dies. Stitched bee trails from the Busy Bees Stamp Set were stamped on the front of the card and the bees were adhered at the end of the trails. The Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen was applied over the bee's wings and a black glaze pen was used to add detail to the eyes.
Two layers of foam tape were applied to the back of the shaker frame and the shaker was filled with the two tiny, tiny bees and Honey Jar Sequins. The shaker back was adhered to the front to finish the front of the card.
The inside of the card was finished by stamping an additional greeting from the Bee-You-Tiful Sentiments Stamp Set and adding the remaining bee from Busy Bees. Depending on the occasion, you could easily switch out the greetings for something else!
