Mama Elephant July Stampede Blog Hop | Plushoween

 

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!

The new Plushoween Stamp Set and coordinating dies includes some of the cutest little Halloween critters! I thought it would be fun to pair these critters with the stairs and door from the previously released Meowy Woofmas Stamp Set. Scene building is one of my favorite things to do in cardmaking and creating a scene for these trick-or-treaters is fairy simple with a bit of Distress Ink and a stencil and of course some coloring!

 

 

To build the "house" for the trick-or-treaters, I first stamped the stairs and door from the Meowy Woofmas Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. The Tim Holtz Bricked Stencil was used with Pumice Stone Distress Ink to "brick" the house around the door. I didn't bother to mask off the door since I'm coloring the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and they'll cover up any overlap from the stenciling/inking.

 

Spider webs and a greeting from the were stamped directly on the background using black ink as shown. A bit of sparkle was added to the webs with a Stardust Glitter Pen. The spider, carrots, critters, and trick-or-treat bag from the Plushoween Stamp Set and the planter from the Meowy Woofmas Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Cardstock and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered the scene to finish the front of the card.

 

 

On the inside of the card, an additional greeting, web, and spider from the Plushoween Stamp Set and "from" from the Surprise Sentiments Stamp Set were stamped in the middle of the card. Another critter and spiders were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies before being adhered in the bottom right corner to finish the design.
