Today I'm back to share another card idea featuring the just released Simon Says Stamp August 2017 Card Kit, Together. This is a clean and simple inlay card that pops with hints of coral and a glitter embossed greeting!
The base of the inlay frame was die cut from Slate Cardstock using a Stitched Rectangle Die and the Hearts Alive Die. The Hearts Alive Die was used to die cut two of the Pink Fresh patterned papers from the kit (xoxo and the marble) as well as Ivory Cardstock. These additional pieces are all going to be used to create the inlay. The ivory small hearts were inked with Coral Reef Ink to match the coral "o"'s in the other pattered paper.
Greetings from the You + Me Stamp Set were stamped below the frame opening on the inlay frame using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with the glitter embossing powder included in the kit.
The frame was flipped over to the back and covered with foam adhesive. This is my favorite trick for creating a dimensional panel and adding adhesive to the openings in the inlay. I turned the frame back over and replaced the inlay pieces like puzzle pieces. The foam adhesive secures them in the inlay!

Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!
The new Plushoween Stamp Set and coordinating dies includes some of the cutest little Halloween critters! I thought it would be fun to pair these critters with the stairs and door from the previously released Meowy Woofmas Stamp Set. Scene building is one of my favorite things to do in cardmaking and creating a scene for these trick-or-treaters is fairy simple with a bit of Distress Ink and a stencil and of course some coloring!
To build the "house" for the trick-or-treaters, I first stamped the stairs and door from the Meowy Woofmas Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. The Tim Holtz Bricked Stencil was used with Pumice Stone Distress Ink to "brick" the house around the door. I didn't bother to mask off the door since I'm coloring the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and they'll cover up any overlap from the stenciling/inking.
Spider webs and a greeting from the were stamped directly on the background using black ink as shown. A bit of sparkle was added to the webs with a Stardust Glitter Pen. The spider, carrots, critters, and trick-or-treat bag from the Plushoween Stamp Set and the planter from the Meowy Woofmas Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Cardstock and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered the scene to finish the front of the card.
On the inside of the card, an additional greeting, web, and spider from the Plushoween Stamp Set and "from" from the Surprise Sentiments Stamp Set were stamped in the middle of the card. Another critter and spiders were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies before being adhered in the bottom right corner to finish the design.

Swim along with Honey Bee Stamps New Release - Under The Sea with Honey Bee!
Everything is available for purchase today in our shop HERE.
For my card share today, I created a single layer scene card with the new Swimming By and Under The Sea stamp sets and then created a dimensional pop up greeting with a previously released Large Thanks Die. The greeting was die cut right from the background and adhered on additional die cuts so that even though it's raised up you don't lose a bit of the scene!
Images from the new Swimming By and Under The Sea stamp sets were stamped on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Bristol Cardstock using Jet Black Ink. Greetings from the Swimming By Stamp Set were stamped as well. The images were colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The background to the scene was colored with watered down markers.
Once dry, the background was die cut with an A2 Double Stitched Frame Die. This gives a fairly flat, simple design a bit of interest around the outer edges. Simple stitching is always my favorite way to add detail around the edges.
Underneath the stamped greetings, I die cut a Large Thanks Die from the stamped and colored background and set the die cut pieces to the side. Four additional "Thanks" die cuts were cut from white cardstock. The background was adhered to a white side fold card base and the "thanks" was inlaid with a white die cut, and the insides of the loops with the stamped and colored pieces. The remaining white die cuts were adhered one on top of another to build up the greeting. The sentiment was finished with the stamped and colored die cut word.
Detail was added to the colored images with a white opaque pen and Glossy Accents. Sequins scattered throughout the design finish this fun thank you card!

I'm always needing cards with a more masculine feel and this thank you card would work for a man or a woman! A Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink Pad is included in the August Kit, and I paired this awesome new ink with Faded Jeans and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks over mint cardstock for a unique take on inking a background.
Instead of inking over a white or light background, I decided to first stamp a piece of the Mint Cardstock included in the August Kit with the Lattice Grid Background Stamp. The image was embossed with white embossing powder.
Cracked Pistachio, Faded Jeans, and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks were applied over the stamped and embossed background for embossed resist. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. The background was trimmed to 3" x 5 1/2" and adhered along the right side of a white top fold card base. A thin strip of the Slate Cardstock from the kit was adhered to the left of the inked background.
A greeting from the You + Me Stamp Set was stamped on Slate Cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being die cut with a Basic Rectangles Die. The greeting was adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

Welcome to the Pretty Pink Posh July Product Release Blog Hop!
Today I have, not one, but two, cards to share with you featuring brand new Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies (and even some older ones). Mixing and Matching stamp sets is one of my favorite things! For my first card share, I created one of my current favorite styles of cards, a tri-fold, because the Fly Away Friends Stamp Set hot air balloons and critters were too cute to be limited to a single card front! In fact, I had to pull out the previously released Camping Friends Stamp Set and Winter Friends Stamp Set for additional critters and images to complete this extended scene card.
A card base was created from trimmed Bristol Smooth Cardstock. The length of the cardstock is 12" and I trim the width to 5 1/2". From the extra strip leftover after making the card base, I used a Stitched Borders 2 Die to create a 12" cloud border. On the background I applied Salty Ocean Distress Ink and spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted it dry with a paper towel. Once the background was dry, I adhered the cloud border along the bottom edge and then scored the base 4" from each side for three 4" x 5 1/2" panels. This is just slightly narrower than a standard A2 sized card base.
Images from the Fly Away Friends, Camping Friends, and Winter Friends stamp sets were stamped on smooth white cardstock using black ink and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies. The images were adhered to the tri-fold card base as shown. Clouds from the Rainy Days Stamp Set were stamped on vellum using Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being die cut and adhered to the scene.
Greeting from the Fly Away Friends Stamp Set were stamped on the first panel and on the Camping Friends sign. Stars from the Fly Away Friends Stamp Set were stamped with Simon Says Stamp Blue Jay Ink. Iridescent Mini Star Confetti were scattered throughout the design to finish the hot air balloon scene.

For my second card share, I have an inked rainbow background with an inlay with the Smile Shaker Die. Instead of a shaker card, I created an inlay decorated with images from the Summer Friends Stamp Set and a greeting from the Birdie Friends Stamp Set.
On a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock, I used post it tape to mask off areas and inked the background with Distress Inks Laura Bassen Style. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer before being blotted dry with a paper towel. Once dry, I die cut the Smile Shaker from the inked background, keeping the inside pieces to piece the inlay back together. The Smile was die cut once more from smooth white cardstock and the inlay was assembled. Foam adhesive was placed on the back of the panel and then the inlay pieces were placed on the front.
Imaged from the Summer Friends Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using black ink and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies. The images were adhered as shown.
An additional greeting from the Birdie Friends Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder before being cut into a thin strip and adhered to the card.
The design was finished with a scattering of Sunny Days Sequins.

Happy Wednesday, my friends! Today I'm sharing a simple moon and stars card with the new Shine On Stamp Set and greetings from the All My Love Stamp Set. With background and image color adjustments this card would work for a little guy too!
The background frames were die cut from Bristol Smooth cardstock using the Wonky Rectangles Dies. Greetings from the All My Love Stamp Set were stamped on the smaller rectangle using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Dried Marigold Distress Inks were applied over the frames for embossed resist and then spritzed with water from the Distress Sprayer before being blotted dry with a paper towel.
The images from the Shine On Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth cardstock using black ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush. The images were die cut using the coordinating dies and embellished with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen.
The frames were secured together with foam adhesive and the hanging star were tucked under the outside frame. The moon was adhered to the left of the hanging stars and the design was finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Star Confetti.

Today I'm sharing a card idea I've had for awhile and I'm so excited to share with you. I've been loving creating cards with die cuts only, the only exception being a stamped greeting. (See THIS beach scene slider card featuring Lawn Fawn dies and THIS floral card featuring Lawn Fawn dies). I absolutely love the Picture Book Fox and Picture Book Bear dies from the latest Simon Says Stamp release and they are the stars of this black and white themed card that would be perfect for anyone but the colors and style would definitely make this a great masculine card (I know I always need good guy-style cards, don't you?!).
I knew I wanted the background white to keep the focus on the die cut images but I still wanted some texture and interest. I trimmed a piece of smooth white cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and applied white embossing paste through the Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil for a messy, imperfect look. I set aside the background to dry completely and made sure to wash the stencil and palette knife with warm water right away so that the embossing paste didn't dry to the tools.
Stick It was applied to both sides of a piece of Fun Foam and silver foil cardstock was adhered to one side. The Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die was die cut from the dimensional material making a dimensional sticker. The greeting was adhered below the die cut frame as shown, slightly overlapping the images. A sentiment phrase from the Sending and Wishing Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being cut into a thin strip and adhered below the dimensional greeting.
The panel was adhered to a white side fold card base to finish the design. A Metallic Silver Envelope is the perfect packaging for this black and white card!

I'm back with another tri-fold card design! I couldn't get this idea out of my heat after creating THIS tri-fold card featuring the Plane and Simple Stamps and Dies so I thought I'd share how cute a vertical tri-fold card can be as opposed the the horizontal design of the planes card. All you do is switch the way the card opens! Easy peasy! The underwater scene is perfect for this mermaids and sea creatures themed card!
I started with a piece of Canson Watercolor cardstock trimmed to 5 1/2" wide (the paper is 12" long). I scored the panel 4" from each end for four equal 4" x 5 1/2" panels using a Scor Pal Tool. I applied Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks all over the background using a circular motion. I spritzed the panel with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted it dry with a paper towel. I used a Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil over the top and pounced the same Distress Ink colors over the top for a subtle wave effect over the background. I think THIS waves stencil would work, too!
For the bottom edge of the design, I trimmed a scrap of the leftover watercolor cardstock to 5 1/2" wide and die cut the long edge with a Simple Stitched Hillside Border before adding color to the "sand" with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks. this border is adhered along the bottom edge of the tri-fold card and is the perfect place to write a sentiment to the recipient! A greeting from the Mermaid For You Stamp Set was stamped along the top edge with Black Licorice Ink.
Details were added to the stamped images with black, white, and stardust glitter pens.
