I'm always needing cards with a more masculine feel and this thank you card would work for a man or a woman! A Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink Pad is included in the August Kit, and I paired this awesome new ink with Faded Jeans and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks over mint cardstock for a unique take on inking a background.
Instead of inking over a white or light background, I decided to first stamp a piece of the Mint Cardstock included in the August Kit with the Lattice Grid Background Stamp. The image was embossed with white embossing powder.
Cracked Pistachio, Faded Jeans, and Broken China Distress Oxide Inks were applied over the stamped and embossed background for embossed resist. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel. The background was trimmed to 3" x 5 1/2" and adhered along the right side of a white top fold card base. A thin strip of the Slate Cardstock from the kit was adhered to the left of the inked background.
A greeting from the You + Me Stamp Set was stamped on Slate Cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being die cut with a Basic Rectangles Die. The greeting was adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
I finished the design with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Midnight Blue, Sea Breeze, and Caribbean Ocean adhered over the background design.
