This adorable set featuring a bear, mice, fall-themed images, and two adorable greetings perfect for creating some amazing cards! I stamped and masked the images before stenciling over them with a stencil and inking with Distress Oxide Inks to create a fall forest scene! It's easy to do and creates a dimensional-looking one-layer design. Let's get started:
The images from the Hello Pumpkin Stamp Set were stamped in three "layers" using the MISTI for perfect placement and masking each layer to build the scene on smooth white cardstock. Masking is a fantastic way to avoid that white line around die cut images and/or to create dimension without bulky layers.
Once all the images were stamped and masked, I masked off the bottom "ground" area with additional masking paper and added forest trees with the Tim Holtz Layering Woodland Stencil and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink. I was able to create the two-tone look of the trees with a single ink pad but inking the darker layering part of the tree first and then lightly inking over it with the bigger image. Once inked, I dried the ink with a heat tool before adding Wild Honey Distress Oxide Ink for the setting "sun", Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink for the "sky", and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink for the forest "ground".
A greeting from the Hello Pumpkin Stamp Set was masked and stamped along the bottom edge of the design.
I die cut the background with a Neat & Tangled Scalloped Die to give the edges a bit of interest. It adds a fantastic white border all the way around the design once it's adhered to the card base.
I removed the masks from the images and colored them in with Copic Markers. *I like to wait to color in my images just in case I mess up the background.
Finishing details were added to the images with black and white gel pens.
