Today we're celebrating STAMPtember® with the new Tim Holtz exclusive stamp/stencil set! Special thanks to Tim for collaborating on this exciting celebration!
Tim's exclusive for STAMPtember is always highly anticipated and this year's set is no exception! Fantastic deer, tree ring image, greetings, trees, postage stamps images, backgrounds, and stencil images make the Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2017 set a must-have! Available while supplies last. So many ways to use this set for fantastic winter/Christmas themed cards. For my card shares today, I created two totally different cards that both feature a deer image. One card is a winter shaker with images stamped inside the shaker and on the transparency window for a dimensional winter scene with a blue background and black silhouette images. The second card is more of a woodland design with the tree ring repeatedly stamped on kraft cardstock, inked, paint splattered and then decorated with an embossed deer and greeting strips.
For the winter scene shaker card, I started with some Canson watercolor cardstock and stamped trees on the background with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder.
A 1 1/4" circle was punched from masking paper and adhered to the background. Part of the bottom of the panel around the trees was masked off as well to create the illusion of "snow" along the bottom. Stars from the Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2017 stamp set were stamped all over the top of the panel using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink was applied over the background. The masks and embossed images resisted the ink. I removed the masks and painted the moon with Starry Colors watercolors and dried it quickly with a heat tool.
Additional trees, deer, and greetings from the Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2017 set were stamped on a clear transparency using black StazOn ink. I love stamping both the inside and window of a shaker card for a dimensional scene.
The panel was die cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die to create a frame.
The shaker background was adhered to a white top fold card base. Two layers of foam tape were used to frame up the background and the shaker was filled with Honey Bee Stamps Ice Chips Glitter and Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter. The transparency window was adhered behind the frame and secured to the card.
Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red was used to give Rudolph a red nose to finish the design!
For my second card, I repeatedly stamped the tree ring from the Tim Holtz STAMPtember 2017 stamp set with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. With a light hand, I applied additional Vintage Photo ink over the tree rings and background.
Picket Fence Distress paint was watered down with water and flicked over the background with a small paintbrush.
Once dry, a deer from the stamp set was stamped with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Greetings from the stamp set were stamped on Lawn Fawn Chili Powder cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greetings were trimmed into thin strips and adhered underneath the embossed deer. A red nose was added to the deer with the Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red.
The panel was adhered to a white top fold card base to finish the design.
