Hi friends! A few days ago I posted some Let It Snow cards HERE featuring the Mama Elephant So Many Snowmen Stamp Set and had several requests to share a video on how to create the masked full panel background. Today I'm sharing two card featuring the Mama Elephant The Cat's Meow Stamp Set and So Many Snowmen Stamp Set to create full stamped and colored backgrounds! The effect is super fun and is easy to do with a little masking!
For both cards, I started at the bottom of a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and stamped the first border with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, stamped and cut out a mask, and then stamped the next border, then the next, moving the mask for each stamped border. I love the Simon Says Stamp Masking Paper. It holds up well to being used multiple times!
Once both backgrounds were stamped, I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen for a soft, watercolored look. Detail was added to the eyes on both backgrounds with a black glaze pen and stripes, polka dots, and highlights were added to the snowmen images with a white gel pen. Glossy Accents was applied to the eyeglasses and hearts on the cat background.
For both cards, I used greetings from the Simon Says Stamp An Arctic Christmas Stamp Set. The greetings were stamped on Black Licorice Cardstock using Versamark Ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, cut into thin strips, and adhered with foam adhesive for subtle dimension.
I love that even though this is a Christmas themed set I was able to get greetings for both my holiday card and non-holiday card!
