Hi friends! The For You Deer Stamp Set is one of my favorites from the Lawn Fawn Fall & Winter Release. Not only are the images adorable but you can create great inside/out designs with the bear and deer in the set which is just so much fun! My card share today features these cute little deer (and one polar bear) hanging out over the edge on a clear card base. When you open the card, you get the other side of them whether it be backs or fronts! I added some falling snow for the background, which you can see whether the card is open or shut since the card base is clear and added some bright red thought bubbles inside the card as well! Let me show you how easy it is to create with a clear card base!
To build the elements for the clear card base I first trimmed two strips of smooth white cardstock to 1 3/4" x 5 1/2". One will be adhered to the front of the clear card, and one will be adhered on the inside of the card to hide the adhesive. I added stitching detail along the top edges of both strips with a Stitched Borders Die. I love these border basics for adding detail to the edges of any strip of cardstock!
For the front panel, I stamped "happy holidays" from the Toboggan Together Stamp Set using Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper Ink. I stamped a greeting from the For You Deer Stamp Set above the holiday greeting with Versafine Black Ink.
The two strips were adhered along the bottom edge of the card front, one on the front and one on the inside as shown.
For the inside and back of the card, I die cut two rectangles from smooth white cardstock using an Outside In Stitched Rectangle Die. On one rectangle, I masked off the edges with post it tape and stamped the falling snow image from the Snow Cool Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. I inked over the falling snow with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink, slightly lightening the inking closer to the bottom of the panel. I buffed any ink sitting on top of the embossing off with a dry paper towel. The inside rectangle was adhered to the inside of the clear card so that the falling snow is visible both when the card is closed and open!
The other rectangle was adhered to the back of the card to hide the adhesive.
The deer and polar bear fronts and backs from the For You Deer Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies. Little hearts were added to the backsides with a heart from the Here We Go A-Waddling Stamp Set. Four backsides and one front were adhered along the front edge of the card. On the inside I lined up the opposite image and adhered the fronts and backside. I wanted adhesive to completely cover the die cut images, so I ran them through a Xyron Sticker Maker so they would adhere nice and flat to the card!
I love that the critters are just as cute on the inside as on the front of the card!
To finish the card, thought bubbles from Into The Woods, Love Letters, and Cheery Christmas were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Chili Pepper Ink and die cut with the coordinating Into The Woods Dies, Love Letters Dies, and Cheery Christmas Dies before being adhered to the inside of the card.
A red nose was added to the deer facing front on the card with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red and Glossy Accents was added to the hearts on each of the critters to finish the design.
