Hello friends! STAMPtember was so crazy busy that I had more cards than days to share them! Today I want to share a card created with the Simon Says Stamp Ornate Background and You Got This Stamp Set. These are two of my favorite products from the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember release!
I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Ornate Background on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. Once the embossing powder was heat set I applied Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, and Faded Jeans Distress Inks over the background for embossed resist. I buffed any ink on top of the embossing off with a dry paper towel.
I trimmed up my background to create a channel for the embossed vellum greeting strip but in my video I explain an easier way to do this (I changed my mind part way through designing this card). On the edges of the trimmed background I adhered 1/8" Scor Tape and applied Radiant Gold Gilding Flakes, brushing off the excess with a Blender Brush.
On a strip of vellum, I stamped a greeting from the You Got This Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The cut out background strip and vellum overlay were adhered to a white side fold card base and the rest of the background was adhered along the top and bottom of the card base to "frame up" the greeting as shown.
Gilded heart accents were created by applying a piece of Stick It adhesive to smooth white cardstock, peeling back the adhesive backing and applying Radiant Gold Gilding Flakes. Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts were die cut from the gold paper and adhered to the card. The design was finished with a scattering of Chameleon Sequins.
