Happy Wednesday stamping friends! I have had the best time guest designing and playing along with the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge this month! Today I have a card and instructional video over on the My Favorite Things Challenge Blog/YouTube Channel featuring this week's sketch and I created a bonus card and video for my blog and personal YouTube Channel! It's an awesome sketch, and I just can't get enough of all the incredible stamps and dies from this month's release!
Here's a peek at the card I created for the MFT YouTube Channel. Be sure to visit the challenge blog HERE to view the video featuring how I created the Spotlight Die Cut Greeting with the awesome Peace Die.
Both of my cards today are based on this sketch:
I created an extreme skiing birthday card for my second example. A simple inked background, sloped border and skiing bear from the Ski-sons Greetings Stamp Set make for a simple, yet extremely cute birthday bear card!
A background was stamped with snowflakes from the You Make My Heart Melt Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks were applied to the background for embossed resist. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry with a paper towel.
A ski slope was die cut from smooth white cardstock using a Stitched Mod Rectangle Stax die and adhered along the bottom edge of the background. I trimmed down the background scene to 4" x 5 1/4".
A greeting from the Ski-sons Greetings Stamp Set was stamped along the ski slope edge with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
A bear from the Ski-sons Greetings Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Ski-sons Greetings Die.
The skiing bear was adhered to the ski slope as shown and the design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White.
