What are your squad goals this holiday season? Is it getting your shopping done early? Getting your handmade holiday cards out the door in plenty of time for the big day? Whatever your squad goals are Simon Says Stamp's December Card Kit, Milk & Cookies, is sure to put a smile on your face and creativity at your fingertips (and maybe even help with some of those card-making projects on your to-do list!).
Today I'm sharing a Christmas Squad card featuring masked images from the Christmas Squad Stamp Set (included in the December Kit or available for individual purchase). Not interested in masking? No problem! Pick up the coordinating Christmas Squad Dies to make adding these sweet images to your projects even easier!
For the background of my card I trimmed down one of the Doodlebug Milk & Cookies patterned papers from the kit to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered it to a white side fold card base. The red/white stripe patterned paper from the kit was trimmed to 3" x 5 1/2" and a Scallop Stitches Border Die was used to create a decorative edge to both long side of the strip. The strip was adhered to the background as shown.
A border was trimmed from smooth white cardstock and four of the images from the Christmas Squad Stamp Set were stamped and masked on the border using Simon Says Stamp masking paper. While the masks were still in place, Salty Ocean Distress Ink was lightly inked over the top part of the border and then white embossing paste was applied through the Falling Snow Stencil to give the illusion of a snowy background.
Once the embossing paste was dry, I removed the masks from the and colored in the images with Copic Markers. I like to do my coloring last. That way if I mess up the background, I don't have to throw away something I spent time coloring!
The colored border was adhered to the stripe border as shown. A sentiment from the Christmas Squad Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with Versamark Ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder and adhered underneath the images. Both the image strip and greeting strip fit within the stitched borders of the Scallop Stitches Border Die.
The card was finished with some of the Doodlebug Milk & Cookies stickers from the kit!

This card is just so very precious!!! I love that you used embossing paste instead of just stamping snow with ink :)
