Welcome to the Altenew December 2017 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop hosted by the Altenew Card Blog!
The newest release is now available in the Altenew Online Store HERE. Lots of amazing stamps and dies and an incredible mini die cutting machine! The Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine is the compact and portable must-have tool for your craft room! It is designed to work with Altenew dies (sold separately) and other wafer-thin metal dies. It can be used to quickly and easily die cut a variety of materials, including cardstock and Altenew specialty papers, and will help you add texture and dimension to your projects. The elegant and clean design will look wonderful on your craft desk, secured on its stable base with suction feet. It's small size makes it perfect for on-the-go crafts as it light and easily transported! The machine measures 6" x 4 1/2" plus handle with 3" x 6 1/4" cutting plates. I used this new die cutting machine for all my die cutting today!
My cards today feature ink layering with the new Flower Arrangement Stamp Set and coordinating dies and Love You So Mush Stamp Set and coordinating dies. The images were stamped and layered with Altenew Inks or Distress Oxide Inks and adhered to alcohol inked backgrounds. Let's get started!
For my first card I applied Meadow Alcohol Ink to some Yupo paper, adding plenty of Blending Solution and tipped the paper up to almost 90 degrees letting the ink run down the paper. I repeated this until I got the "watercolored" looking background look I was going for. I set the background aside to dry while I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Flower Arrangement Stamp Set.
I stamped the flowers from the Flower Arrangement Stamp Set with Altenew Blush, Rouge, Crimson, Velvet, and Jet Black inks. The leaves were stamped with Forest Glades, Evergreen, and Jet Black inks. The images were die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered along the bottom edge of the background with foam adhesive squares.
The Hello greeting from the Flower Arrangement Dies was die cut from white cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and adhered to the card as shown. The new die cut this dimensional material with one pass of the machine! So awesome!
An additional sentiment from the Peony Spray Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black ink, trimmed into a thin strip. and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
The card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew and Pale Gold.
My second card also features and Alcohol Inked background. This background was created with Aqua Alcohol ink and plenty of Blending Solution. The paper was tipped at an angle, re-inked, and tipped the other way to create this background. I was trying to create amazing backgrounds with a single color of alcohol ink and I am really happy with the results!
This card features the adorable mushroom images from Love You So Mush Stamp Set and coordinating dies stamped in rainbow color with Distress Oxide Inks. These cheerful and bright mushrooms pop against the pale aqua background!
The mushroom were stamped with Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks, die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered to the alcohol inked background as shown. A greeting was stamped with Cotton White StazOn Ink and the design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White.
