Welcome to Day 4 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2017 Series!
I'm back with my fourth year of last minute handmade ideas! Even with the craziness of the season I like to be able to add handmade touches to gifts for our friends and family. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing mostly quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I created two interactive spinner tags)!
Each Handmade Holiday project blog post will feature a brand new, never before seen project(s) plus an incredible giveaway from a generous sponsor!
POLAR BEAR INTERACTIVE SPINNER TAGS
Christmas spinner tags have been one of the most popular posts on my blog the last couple of years. To see the reindeer spinner tags from 2015, click HERE, and for the 2016 sheep spinner tags, click HERE. This year I created some polar bear spinner tags with the awesome Beary Happy Holidays Stamp Set.
The base for the tags was created using a Stitched Party Banners Die and an Outside In Stitched Circle Die. The front of the tags was die cut from Chili Pepper Cardstock and the backs die cut from smooth white cardstock.
The front of each tag was stamped with a Simon Says Stamp Gingham Background Stamp and Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The "cling" side of the Stamp Platform made it so easy to add the buffalo check pattern to each tag! Using a large background stamp instead of small images makes adding a decorative touch fast and easy. The goal of these tags was to make something cute and fun in less than an hour!
Banners were die cut from vellum using a Fancy Folded Banner Die. A greeting from the Beary Happy Holidays Stamp Set was stamped on the vellum banner with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Each banner was folded on the score lines and adhered to the front of each tag.
The front and back of the polar bear from the Beary Happy Holidays Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies.
The images were run through a Xyron Sticker Maker to add adhesive to the entire back of each image. Gold embroidery floss was sandwiched between the front of back of the polar bear and then centered in the cut out circle and sandwiched between the front and back of the tags.
Small heart tags were die cut from Chili Pepper Cardstock using a Tiny Tag and then stamped with a "to/from" greeting from the Tiny Tag Sayings Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The tag were attached with black twine to finish the gift tags.
