Welcome to Day 5 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2017 Series!
I'm back with my fourth year of last minute handmade ideas! Even with the craziness of the season I like to be able to add handmade touches to gifts for our friends and family. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing mostly quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I created eight interactive shaker tags)!
Each Handmade Holiday project blog post will feature a brand new, never before seen project(s) plus an incredible giveaway from a generous sponsor!
SPARKLE SNOWFLAKE ORNAMENT SHAKER TAGS
It's no surprise that the Honey Bee Stamps Ornament Shaker Tags and Cards dies are some of my favorites from this year! Today I wanted to show a fun die cutting project combining the Ornament Shaker Tag dies with Simon Says Stamp snowflake dies to create glittery snowflake shaker tags perfect for tying to packaging and then using as ornaments after the gift giving is done!
The frame for each shaker tag was die cut from Simon Says Stamp glitter cardstocks using the Ornament Shaker Tag Dies. The Simon Says Stamp Melody, Abby, Maryanne, Marisa, and Snow Flurries snowflakes were also die cut from the glitter cardstocks.
A window for each shaker was die cut from embossable plastic using the solid ornament shape. A backer for each shaker was also die cut from smooth white cardstock. The frame shape was also die cut from Fun Foam.
The ornament toppers were die cut from a contrasting color of glitter paper, two per tag.
Each glitter frame was adhered to plastic and the snowflakes were layered and adhered to the window as shown. Each snowflake was adorned with Honey Bee Stamps Rainbow Rhinestones. I used Glossy Accents and a Jewel Picker to adhere the rhinestones to the snowflakes. I love the sparkle they add to the design plus the iridescent quality of the rhinestones makes them pick up whatever color you put them next to!
Each shaker frame and window were adhered to the die cut Fun Foam frame and the shakers were filled with Honey Bee Stamp Clear Bubbles, Bokeh Lights, or Fall Equinox mixes.
The back of each tag was stamped with greetings from the Flakey Sentiments Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp Magnolia, Lipstick Red, Evergreen, or High Dive Ink and Delicata Silvery Shimmer or Golden Glitz Ink. The backs were glued in place to hold the shaker materials inside.
Each tag was finished by gluing the ornament topper pieces on the front and back and threading some silver or gold twine through the top of the tag.
