This month we are celebrating everything Die Cutting! In addition to a wide variety of amazing new thin die cut designs, Simon Says Stamp has released a gorgeous assortment of glitter papers that work perfectly with the dies!
I created two snowflakes and sparkles inlay style cards featuring all die cutting except for a small stamped sentiment on each! With so many amazing dies available these day, it's as easy to create a card created entirely of die cuts as it is to stamp! And the variety and quality of dies is incredible! Look at the detail of the Big Huge Felicity Snowflake Die below. It die cuts beautifully! The new glitter papers are a breeze to die cut, too, which makes them ideal for using with this new release!
For my first card, I die cut the Sensational Snowflake Collage from smooth white cardstock. I then added die cut stitched borders with the Stitched Wimbley Border Dies for a decorative touch along both long sides. I backed the panel with foam adhesive.
I die cut the Sensational Snowflake Collage from White Glitter, Rose Gold Glitter, Magenta Glitter, Silver Glitter, and Black Glitter Cardstock and inlay the pieces for the glittery snowflake border.
Glittery greetings were die cut using the previously released Merry & Bright dies. I adhered glitter cardstock to Fun Foam backed with stick it adhesive before die cutting for a dimensional sentiment.
An additional greeting from the Merry Everything Stamp Set was stamped below the dimensional greeting with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
Vellum snowflakes were die cut using the Sensational Snowflake Die and layered over the snowflakes in the border. The card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White, White Blizzard, and Silver Moondust.
Here's the same card in another color combination. I substituted the Aqua Glitter and Sapphire Glitter instead of the rose gold and magenta for this version.
For my second card I created a similar inlay die cut panel but used the Sparkling Snowflakes Breeze Die. Borders were die cut with the Stitched Wimbley Border Dies for a decorative touch along both long sides. Inlay the shapes with the same colors of glitter cardstock as the first card, added a stamped greeting from the Merry Everything Stamp Set and heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.
For the background, I used the Big Joy Snowflake Die, Big Bliss Snowflake Die, and Big Huge Felicity Snowflake Die by die cutting them from glitter cardstock and adhering them to the card base. They create a sparkly snowflake background for the simple snowflake inlay border on the raised panel!
The card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White, White Blizzard, and Silver Moondust.
And here's this card in the blue/silver/white version. I can't get enough of all these gorgeous snowflakes!
