Hello. Today I am sharing two cards made entirely with stamps and absolutely no dies at all! Both cards feature cute scenes created with the Flora and Fauna Love Bug Stamp Set and Mermaid Love Stamp Set. The first card features masking and stenciling a background scene and the second card features minimal masking and watercoloring a background! Let's get started.
For the "Sending Good Vibes" card I used the Stamp Platform to stamp and mask the critters, card and stack of suitcases from the Love Bug Stamp Set. Once all the images were masked, a background was stenciled with the Honey Bee Stamps Outdoor Scene Builder stencils. The flat edge of the mountains stencils was used to "ground" the card with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The mountains were inked with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and the clouds with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I went with non-traditional mountain/clouds colors to keep the feeling of the card more love/Valentine's theme although this card could be used anytime!
Once the background was stenciled, I removed the masks and colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The sun from the Love Bug Stamp Set was stamped with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink and the hearts with Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink. The card was finished with Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the hearts, sun, headlights, and bumper of the car.
For the "You Are Mer-Mazing" card I stamped the images from the Mermaid Love Stamp Set much like the first card, creating masks for the seashell and mermaid and then stamping the waves all over the background with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I blended the ink out with a water brush pen, lightly watercoloring the background with blue ink for the illusion of an underwater scene.
Next the seaweed and other solid images were stamped with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and Candied Apple Distress Ink and blended out with a water brush pen where needed. The masks were removed and the images were colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
The design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White and a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the hearts.
