Hello stampers! Today I have a card featuring stamping and embossing with white on black cardstock and coloring in the images with Polychromos colored pencils. I stamped the Large Thanks and flowers and leaves from the Busy Bees stamp sets on black cardstock with Versamark Ink and colored in the images with Polychromos. I love how vibrant the colors are agains the dark background.
To create the background, I first stamped the Large Thanks on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of smooth black cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. Next, I stamped flowers and leaves from the Busy Bees Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed those with white embossing powder.
The florals were colored in with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils using a fairly heavy hand to give the flowers a vibrant look.
An additional greeting from the Thanks and Giving Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock using Onyx Versafine Ink, trimmed into a strip and adhered below the large stamped "thanks" with foam adhesive squares.
Bees from the Busy Bees Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in with Polychromos colored pencils, and die cut with the coordinating Busy Bees Dies before being adhered with foam adhesive squares to give them a bit of dimension from the background.
The large flowers were adorned with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White and the centers of the flowers and the bee's wings were coated with Glossy Accents for a smooth, shiny finish!
