Happy Saturday! If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen this card as I put it together. Every single die used on the outside (and inside!) of this interactive card was created with the Spellbinders February 2018 Large Die of the Month Club Dies! For only $20 + shipping you get an amazing set of new, exclusive dies to play with each month! There were so many dies in this set I couldn't use them all on my card. And I tried! Ha!
My favorite thing about the February Dies is the incredible pop up greeting that makes adding an interactive element to the inside of your cards so easy! Let's get started...
I created a card base from Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud cardstock and added a subtle text background with the MFT Happy Birthday Background Stamp and Lawn Fawn Yeti White Pigment Ink.
The cupcake elements were die cut from Ballet Slippers, Guava, Raspberry, Chili Pepper, Mermaid, Peacock, and Vanilla Malt cardstock, layered and adhered to the card front as shown.
Detail was added to the candle with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Honey Gold. The cherry was adorned with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and then stem with Dark Walnut Nuvo Crystal Drops. The cupcake outlines were adorned with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard. Drops in Carnation Pink, Autumn Red, Caribbean Ocean, and Simply White were added to the cupcake liners and around the design as shown.
The scripty greeting was die cut from Silver Glitter Cardstock adhered to FunFoam with Stick It adhesive and adhered overlapping the bottom of the cupcakes along the bottom of the card front.
I die cut the pop up element from a white side fold card base. Before folding anything, I added a stamped greeting from the Mama Elephant Birthday Wishes Stamp Set and black ink.
I trimmed down this inside panel by 1/8" on each side so the insert fits better on the card inside.
I gently folded the pop up elements and used a bone folder to get really good creases on the folding parts. The individual word greetings were die cut from Lawn Fawn Storm Cloud, Chili Pepper, and Peacock cardstock. The colorful greetings, slightly overlapping the dark gray greetings before being adhered to the pop ups. I wanted as much dimension as possible and love the look of slight "shadows" behind die cut greetings. The tops of each of the letters (where the embossing is) was decorated with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard, a great sparkly clear iridescent look. Nuvo Drops in Simply White were added to the bottom of each letter as shown.
