Welcome to the Lawn Fawn March Inspiration Week!
Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the brand new Peekaboo Backdrop which is an amazing new frame die with interactive elements that you can use or not depending on the card design. I paired the amazing Peekaboo Backdrop with the flap dies and the Toadally Awesome Stamp Set and coordinating dies to create this new home congratulations card.
The magic of this card starts with the awesome Peekaboo Backdrop die cut from smooth white cardstock. Three of the four openings were customized with flap dies to create the interactive elements. I temporarily adhered the inserts to the frame with post it tape and inked the frame and inserts with Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks before spritzing with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotting dry with a paper towel. I die cut two additional frames to give a bit more dimension to the frame by stacking them one on another and I used the extra inserts as "backers" for the interactive flaps and inked them to match the rest of the design.
Once dry, I stamped greetings and the dragonfly "trail" from the Toadally Awesome Stamp Set on the largest flap using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Because I used the MISTI to stamp these I was able to stamp and emboss and repeat to get a really nice white bold greeting. I thought the first embossed greeting wasn't as nice and solid bright white as I wanted to I did it twice! Perfect!
The toads, lily pads, dragonfly, cat tails, and grass from the Toadally Awesome Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies.
The frames were adhered to a side fold card base with 1/8" Scor Tape. You could also use foam tape or fun foam in place of stacking frames but I like the low profile and clean edges that stacking frames one on top of another provides.
I adhered the images to the die cut openings as shown, building little scenes in each opening. I stamped the word "ribbit" on the two small flaps using Lucky Clover Distress Oxide and stamped "open me" from the Push Here Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped "lift the flap" on the largest insert. The interactive flaps were adhered with 1/8" Scor Tape as well.
The little flies were stamped directly on the card and colored in with a yellow Copic Marker.
The design was finished by adding white pen detail to the images.
