Happy Friday friends! Today I'm sharing another die cutting idea with Spellbinders dies. I love the look of inlay die cuts and the brand new Die D-Lites Sketched Blooms and Sketched Blooms 2 are fantastic dies to use with this technique.
I started my design by stamping Simon Says Stamp You Matter background stamp on Bristol smooth cardstock with Versamark Ink, heat embossing with white embossing powder and then inking over the text with Distress Oxide Inks in Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Twisted Citron. I buffed the ink off the embossing and trimmed the background panel to 5 1/4” x 4”.
I die cut the Die D-Lites Sketched Blooms and Sketched Blooms 2 from black cardstock for the outlines and then shades of aqua, teal, mint, yellow, orange, and green to create the inlay flower border.
Starting with the flower on the left I adhered the online and the inlay pieces and worked my way across the bottom of the background until I had a pretty little flower garden. It’s helpful to use a jewel picker or something similar to pick up all the little pieces for the inlays.
The background was adhered to a white side fold card base and a sentiment from the You Got This Stamp Set was stamped and embossed on black yardstick and adhered above the flower garden as shown.
Nuvo Crystal Drops adorn the flowers and give them character and texture.
The flowers are the stars of the show in this design!
