I can't get enough of the Picture Book Animals. Just a couple days ago I shared THIS otter picture book scene card and today I want to share this bright and colorful summertime Picture Book Lion card perfect for sending summertime greetings!
The background of the card was inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and the new Clouds For Days Stencil. Y'all know I'm a sucker for cloud stencils, right?!!!! You can do these awesome cloud shapes or you can use the sides of the stencil to create cloud borders. LOVE this stencil!!!
Borders were die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the Drifting Stitches Border Dies, inked with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and adhered to the bottom edge of the stenciled cloud panel as shown. The front panel was adhered with foam adhesive.
The Summertime Die was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and both the positive and negative spaces were inked with Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Candied Apple Distress Inks. Foam Adhesive was applied to the back of the rectangle and the letters were inlaid back into the design before it was adhered to the scene as shown.
The Picture Book Lion was due cut from Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Sunflower Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Chocolate Bar Cardstock, and Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock. The Sunshine pieces were inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and the Sunflower pieces inked with Wild Honey Distress Ink. The lion was assembled to sit atop the Summertime Die. Glossy Accents was added to the nose and Copic Marker pink circles for the cheeks finished with white dots with a white gel pen.
Greetings from the new Four Seasons Stamp Set were stamped on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Cardstock using embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting was trimmed into a thin strip and adhered along the bottom edge of the design.
The card was finished with a scattering of red hearts die cut from Lipstick Red Cardstock using the Mini Hearts Die.
