You guys have been asking for it and today I've got a comparison video to share with you featuring the new Mama Elephant 3D Pop Up Box Card and Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop Up. Both die collections create the most amazing pop up boxes. Both are exactly the same size when flat (they both fit in a standard A2 size envelope!). There are just a few subtle differences and I hope that the video showcases those so you can decide whether you need one, the other, or both!
First, let's look at the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop Up. I die cut all the elements for the box, including the accessories so you could get a good look at all that's included.
The main difference between this pop up card base and the Mama Elephant one is the scalloped edge on the box flaps and the score lines on the box. The Mama Elephant box has perforated lines.
The square and rectangle panels for the Lawn Fan box featuring stitching detail.
The pop up inserts are straight edged.
Accessories for the Lawn Fawn box include a clothesline, banners in two sizes, hearts accents, and star accents.
I used images from the Mama Elephant Hippity Hop Stamp Set and Tea With Friends Stamp Set to adorn the box. You can use any stamps or dies you want as long as they fit within the footprint of the box! I love that about these interactive cards!
How cute is that little pastel rainbow banner clothesline?!!!!
A bit of inking on the white panels ties them into the rest of the box design.
Next let's take a look at the Mama Elephant 3D Pop Up Box Card. I die cut all the elements for the box, including the accessories so you could get a good look at all that's included.
The Mama Elephant box has perforated fold lines and flat edges.
The square and rectangle panels for the Mama Elephant box do not have stitching detail.
The pop up insert has a grass edge or stitched border depending on how you use it. And there's matching borders for the side panels of the box!
Accessories for the Mama Elephant box include a fence, thought bubbles in two styles, hearts accents, and small rectangles.
I used image from the Mama Elephant Animal Parade,Tea With Friends Stamp Set, and Sunday Stroll Stamp Set for this birthday card.
Mixing and matching elements gives the box a "full" look which I love. Elements like birds, bees, butterflies, etc. can be adhered on clear acetate strips to appear to be "flying". This is one of my favorite techniques with pop up boxes!
The inserts for the Mama Elephant box are so cool with the grass edge of stitched edge!
Make sure that when you're adhering your images in the pop up box that they don't stick up any higher than the back of the box so that the card will still fit within a standard A2 envelope.
The front panels of both cards were adorned with a birthday message from the Surprise Sentiments Stamp Set.
