I can't even begin to tell y'all how much I love this kit and add ons! I love it so much that I created eight, yes, eight cards to share with you today! My first three card feature the Main Kit only (with the exception of one greeting from the Beach Messages Stamp Set) and then I used lots of the stamp and die add ons from the June Release for the rest of my cards! Let's get started!
These cards were all created with the stamp set from the Main Kit. These are one layer cards that feature lots of stamping, inking, and embossing! I love one-layer cards that look like they're many layers, don't you?!!!
I started with the color layering water images from the stamp set in the Main Kit and stamped the images in approximately the middle of these three pieces of smooth white cardstock.
Here are the color combinations I used for my water:
- Simon Says Stamp Mint, Mint Candy, Teal
- Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass, Surf Blue, Caribbean Blue
- Simon Says Stamp Duckling, Clementine, Orange Peel
Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink was used to create the sand and Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, and Wild Honey Distress Oxide Inks were used to create the skies for the backgrounds.
Clouds were stamped with white pigment ink and the then the color layering cloud images were stamped over the dried pigment ink with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The "Hello" greeting and feet were stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with the Sand Embossing Powder from the Main Kit. This embossing powder is so stinking awesome, you guys! I can't say enough about it.... so cool!
Birds were stamped in the sky on each card with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The mermaid and rock on the mint card were also stamped in black and the greeting from the Beach Messages Stamp Set was stamped with Mint Candy Ink. The sailboat was stamped with Orange Peel Ink along the horizon line and the greeting on the yellow/orange card was stamped with Clementine Ink. The adirondack chairs were stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The paper was slightly shifted and the image was stamped again with Surf Blue Ink for a slight shadow to really make the chairs pop. An additional greeting from the Main Kit was stamped in Caribbean Blue Ink.
I absolutely adore the sea gulls from the Seas the Day Gulls Stamp Set. I paired the cute images and greetings from this stamp set with the Wave and Sea Confetti Die for these fun scene cards featuring inked die cut panel backgrounds.
The Wave and Sea Confetti Die was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and inked with Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks before being spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry. The background was layered over vellum and then over another piece of cardstock inked with Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for a tone-on-tone water look muted by vellum in between.
The images from the Seas the Day Gulls Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Seas the Day Gulls Dies. The images were assembled as shown. Tucking the fish, wood pole, and starfish in the "waves" helps ground the images in the water.
Greetings from the stamp set were stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder before being adhered to the cards with foam adhesive as shown.
These next two cards feature embossed resist Abstract Waves Bold Prints backgrounds framed up with the Beachy Frame Die, and adorned with Seal of Approval images! Embossed resist is always one of my favorite stamping/inking techniques!
The Abstract Waves Bold Prints background was stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using a clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks were applied over the embossing and then wiped away for embossed resist.
Greetings from the Seal of Approval Stamp Set were stamped with embossing ink over the embossed resist backgrounds and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Frames were die cut from a piece of smooth white cardstock using the Beacy Frame Die and popped up with foam adhesive.
Images from the Seal of Approval and Seas the Day Gulls stamp sets were stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Seal of Approval Dies and Seas the Day Gulls Dies. The images were adhered as shown.
A greeting from the Beach Please Stamp and Cut set was stamped on smooth white cardstock with black ink, trimmed into a thin strip, and adhered under the embossed sentiments as shown.
The cards were finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White and Sea Breeze.
My final card share today features and inked and blended background with a background stamped and embossed over the top with white embossing powder. I love bold backgrounds and this one is featured over 2/3's of this card's surface.
Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Inks were blended on Bristol Smooth Cardstock. Once dry, the background was stamped with the Beachy Bold Prints Background Stamp using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The panel was trimmed down and adhered to the bottom of a white card base. A think black cardstock strip was adhered between the top and bottom of the card.
Greetings from the Beach Please Stamp and Cut set were stamped along the top edge of the card as shown. Images from the stamp set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies before being adhered to the top of the card as shown.
The card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Red Berry, Ripened Pumpkin, and Dandelion Yellow.
