Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes Release Blog Hop!
The latest release from Simon Says Stamp is perfect for all you summertime crafting and beyond! Today I'm combining the Beachy Waves Background with Vacation Waves Sentiments and images from the Summer Cuddly Critters for this summer-themed card. I used some of my favorite "sunset" colors to ink up the Beachy Waves Background (these colors scream "summertime" to me) and stamped greetings in a darker tone over the background, and added the stamped, colored, and die cut Summer Cuddly Critters along the bottom edge.
For the background I inked the Beachy Waves Background with Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Inks, blending them on the background stamp with an ink blending tool and then spritzing the stamp lightly with water from a Mini Mister before stamping the background on Bristol Smooth Cardstock. The ink blending tool plus water help the colors blend together nicely when stamped on the background.
Once the background is dry, I stamped sentiments from the Vacation Waves Sentiments Stamp Set using Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink for a tone-on-tone look.
Images from the Summer Cuddly Critters Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Summer Cuddly Critters dies.
The images were adhered along the bottom edge of the card, some with foam adhesive for extra dimension.
Glossy Accents was used to add a glossy finish to the sunglasses, beach ball, and flamingo beak. Nuvo Crystal Glaze in White Blizzard was used to make the umbrella sparkly, Ebony Black was used to add detail to the flamingo floaty and starfish eyes, and additional Nuvo Crystal Drops in Red Berry, Ripened Pumpkin, and Dandelion Yellow were scattered throughout the design.
