Today I'm sharing a trio of cards that I'm calling one layer wonders. Each card is a single layer featuring coloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, inking, and background stamping and absolutely NO masking! I've got several tips and tricks for being successful with this technique in the how-to video so be sure to check it out!
I went a little out of order today and worked with the add-on stamp sets before tackling the main kit stamp set! This Ornate Carousel Stamp Set has the most amazing build a carousel horse/dragon/unicorn images! I built a carousel by stamping the images on Bristol Smooth Cardstock and coloring in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
Once colors, I added a bit of Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink around the edges and then stamped the County Fair Bold Print over the top, removing excess ink from the center with a dry paper towel before inking the panel, with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink.
The design was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard over the banner, mane and tail, sentiment, and confetti. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White were added to the background as well.
My next card was created with the same technique, I switched out the carousel horse for a flying pig with balloons from the County Fair Pig Stamp Set! How cute is this little guy?!!! Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard were added to the colored balloons to give them a sparkly finish.
The background was inked and stamped with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink and finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White, Red Berry, and Carnation Pink.
My final card share today features stamps from the July Main Kit Stamp Set! I love silhouette images and this set has some amazing ones! I stamped the marquee sign, fireworks, and silhouette border on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, and heat set the ink with clear embossing powder.
I added color to the background with Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and then colored in the marquee with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
Just like the previous two cards, I added text to the background with the County Fair Bold Print, this time with both Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks.
The design was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard over the arrow, letters and fireworks. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White and Red Berry finish the design.
