Happy Wednesday y'all! Today I have a custom lady bug stamped and colored background with a vellum sentiment overlay! I'm addicted to creating my own backgrounds from images lately. It's a great way to get your creativity on and to also create just the look you want for your card! I love building my cards "from the ground up" so to speak! This is also a great way to use bold, prominent images with a large greeting that may otherwise not fit on the same card together. Love that!
The background of my card was stamped with lady bugs and faces from the Little Ladies Stamp Set and leaves from the Spring Blossoms Stamp Set. The images were colored in with Copic Markers and embellished with a white gel pen. Hearts from the Little Ladies Stamp Set were stamped in the "white space" using Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink.
A vellum rectangle was die cut using an A2 Double Stitched Rectangle Die. The Small Gang sentiment was stamped on the rectangle with a clear embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder.
The Small Gang dies were used to die cut smooth white cardstock, black glitter cardstock and dark gray cardstock and then the dies were adhered over and under the vellum greeting to really make the sentiment come to life!
The vellum overlay was glued in place and the design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Red Berry, Gloss White, and Ebony.
