The backgrounds for both cards was created using the new Plank Background Stamp. I stamped the background on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The different areas of the background were watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen. The sky's the limit with great background stamps! They can be used in so many ways!
Borders were trimmed from smooth white cardstock and adhered along the bottom edge of both cards. Sentiment phrases from the new Tiny Words Stamp Set was stamped with black ink. The Big Picture Book Lion and Big Picture Book Hippo were die cut from several different cardstock and assembled as shown.
The Script Hello was die cut from black and white cardstock, layered and adhered above the stamped phrase.
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers were used to color a scrap of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and then the Mini Hearts Die was used to die cut the heart accents used to complete the design.

Backgrounds from Bristol Smooth Cardstock were trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4" and stenciled with the Simon Says Stamp Square Dance Stencil using Barn Door, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. On one of the backgrounds I spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer and the other I left it "as is".
Flowers from the Honey Bee Cosmos Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being colored and watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The flowers were die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered to the center of each background as shown.
Greetings were die cut using the With Sympathy coordinating dies. The greeting was die cut from smooth white cardstock, the greeting shadow die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and inked with Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. The sentiments were adhered with foam adhesive.
Additional sentiments from the With Sympathy Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink, trimmed into thin strips, and adhered with foam adhesive.

Sympathy cards are not my favorite cards to make (or send) but having them on hand when I need them has been on the forefront of my mind lately. I recently sent out the last of sympathy cards I had on hand so I'll be working on replenishing that category of cards in my personal stash. Coloring directly on stamps with water based markers is one of my favorite techniques that I haven't revisited in quite some time. These beautiful Simon Says Stamp Folk Dance and Modern Roses background floral stamps make the most beautiful watercolored backgrounds with this technique.

Watch the creation of these two coloring on stamps with water based markers cards from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
The backgrounds were colored in with Tombow Dual Brush Markers. I used colors from both the Bright Pack (755 Rubine Red, 933 Orange, 133 Chartreuse, 296 Green) and Pastel Pack (243 Mint). I colored in the Simon Says Stamp Folk Dance and Modern Roses background floral stamps with the markers, spritzed the ink with water from a Mini Mister to reactivate the ink and then stamped the design on watercolor cardstock. I found working in smaller areas at a time worked best. By not cleaning my stamp in between stamping I was able to see where I had already colored and move on to the next section.
Once the backgrounds were completely stamped, I let the backgrounds air dry. Watercolor cardstock is the best option for this technique because it absorbs the water so easily.
Sentiments from the wplus9 Sympathy Lilies Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Mint and Jellybean Inks. Ink choices make a huge difference here because they compliment the ink colors for the backgrounds. Soft and serene is perfect for these greetings. The greetings were trimmed into rectangles and adhered to the backgrounds with foam adhesive.
Flowers from the Simon Says Stamp Bold Flowers Stamp Set were colored with the same Tombow Dual Brush Markers as the background, spritzed with water from the Mini Mister and stamped on watercolor cardstock before being die cut with the coordinating Bold Flowers Dies and adhered to the cards with foam adhesive squares as shown.
This technique works best with solid stamp images like the flowers, leaves, and backgrounds shown here.
A Mini Mister applies a fine, even mist of water and is my preferred tool for reactivating the ink colored onto the stamps.

To celebrate my love of crafting, I'm creating one of my favorite kinds of cards, one mixing and matching supplies from multiple companies and one that features rainbow color! I've had this awesome Concord & 9th Unicorn Awesomeness Stamp Set for awhile now and have never used it! Today seemed like the perfect opportunity to showcase this awesome images and all the colors of the rainbow!
The background panel for my card was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the largest Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Die. The panel was inked with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and then stenciled with the MFT Stamps Radiating Rays Stencil and Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks. A Distress Sprayer was used to spritz water over the panel and then blotted dry with a paper towel.
Two more panels were die cut from smooth white cardstock and vellum and die cut with the cloud border from the Unicorn Dies. The borders were layered along the bottom edge of the rainbow panel. A sentiment from the Concord & 9th Unicorn Awesomeness Stamp Set was stamped in the upper right corner of the card using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
The unicorn from the Concord & 9th Unicorn Awesomeness Stamp Set was stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock, colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, die cut with the coordinating Unicorn Dies, and adhered to the scene as shown. Detail was added to the unicorn with a Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen, Glossy Accents was added to the eye, and Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard was added to the unicorn horn.
Distress Inks were used to add color to a scrap of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and then the heart and star confetti from the Unicorn Dies were die cut and adhered to the card as shown. Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard was applied to the shapes and a few additional drops were added throughout the card to complete the magical design.

Sweet little critters, a simple inlay frame, and sentiments make for a perfect sympathy card. Sympathy cards don't always have to be flowers (which I love and use often). I challenged myself to use critter images from the Mama Elephant Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set for a sympathy card. The soft muted colors and simple design make this a great option for a sympathy/prayers card.

The background was die cut with the thin Dotted Detail Frame, keeping the outer frame and inside panel and discarding the thin frame. The Dotted Detail frame was die cut again from silver metallic cardstock. The three pieces were then adhered onto a white top fold card base to create the inlay background. I love this technique and it's a go-to for creating an eye-catching border on a simple design.
The images were adhered to the scene as shown and white detailing was added with an opaque pen to finish the design.

I love creating multiple cards while I have supplies out. I challenged myself to use the same supplies and design to create two completely different colored cards. One card is bright and colorful and one in more muted tones. The Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Flowers Background is the perfect starting point for these watercolored gratitude cards.

Whether you love bright, rainbow colors or elegant pinks/golds, these exact same stamps work! How awesome is that?!!! I love how you get two completely different looks with the same things.
The Center Cut Flowers Background was stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with either white embossing powder or Antique Gold Embossing Powder. The flowers were watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a medium water brush pen.
Another phrase from the You Got This Stamp Set was stamped on cardstock colors to match each card using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The phrases were trimmed into thing strips and adhered to each card with foam adhesive.
The designs were both finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in colors to match each card.

Hello! Today I have a card created entirely from one stamp set! I love creating my own backgrounds from stamped images. The cactus from the No Probllama Stamp Set is the perfect background for the adorable llama, blanket, and sombrero for this punny birthday card!
V I D E O T U T O R I A L
Watch the creation of this no probllama birthday card from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
The background was created by repeatedly stamping the cactus and flowers from the No Probllama Stamp Set on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of smooth white cardstock. The images were colored in with Copic Markers and a light shadow was traced around each image. Small dotted detail was added to the white space with the tip of a marker.
The llama, blanket, and sombrero were stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating No Probllama Dies. The images were adhered to the background with foam adhesive squares.
A greeting from the stamp set was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before being trimmed into a thin strip adhered below the llama with foam adhesive squares.
I finished the design by adding an additional stamped sentiment inside the card.

Today I wanted to bring you a bonus project featuring lots of new goodies from the latest Lawn Fawn Release! I've created another Double Slider Surprise Card, showing how to repurpose clear stamp/die packaging to use for the slider (it worked brilliantly!) and also showing how the Thanks A Latte images can be used for a holiday card (I used them to create a fall pumpkin spice card HERE). I've also incorporated a new Really Rainbow Christmas patterned paper, Woodgrain Neturals cardstock, and some previously released products as well! Let's get started!

The Double Slider Surprise was assembled according to the directions in the video. This time I repurposed some clear stamp/die packaging to use as the slider track and it was awesome! I'm keeping a folder full of packaging to reuse and repurpose now! It was easy to cut, easy to assemble, and best of all worked like a charm!
I used a combination of the white Woodgrain Neturals cardstock, and regular smooth white cardstock for my slider. I highly recommend that if you use this cardstock for your slider, that you back the pull out tabs with another die cut panel (from smooth white cardstock or whatever you want to use) to make them more sturdy.
Images from the and For You Deer Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Thanks A Latte Dies and For You Deer Dies. The images were assembled and adhered to the three panels as shown. How cute are the adorable little polar bears and deer hanging over the edge of the mugs?!!!!
Additional heart and snowflake images from the Thanks A Latte Dies were stamped, colored, die cut, and scattered around the front of the design.
Greetings from both theThanks A Latte images and For You Deer Stamp Set (the fonts in both sets are the same and work together so awesome!) were used for both the banner on the front of the card and also the finished greetings on the inside of the card. One of my most favorite things about Lawn Fawn is that you can mix and match stamp sets. Old or new, they all work together! I love, love, love this!

Welcome to the Hero Arts Season of Wonder Release Blog Hop!
The Season of Wonder Catalog Release is now available at Hero Arts! The holiday catalog is always one of my very favorites. The catalog can be purchased or you can view the pdf of the catalog can be viewed on the Hero Arts website HERE.
The Cut Out Christmas Fancy Die, Cut Out Season Fancy Die, and the Cut Out Holidays Fancy Die were used to create sentiment borders for each card. The cut out greetings were layered over a white die cut greeting for a slight shadow effect. The script sentiment was inlaid with a darker or light cardstock shade. Additional greetings from the Fa La Llama Stamp Set were stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The borders were adhered with foam adhesive to the bottom of each snowflake background.
The Snowflakes and Ornaments Fancy Die was used to create the coordinating gift tag. The tag can also be used as an ornament! So much fun!
