Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, you will find Waffle Flower’s newest release a great investment for yourself.
This is a back to basics release focuses on the function of stamps and dies. Waffle Flower's goal is to help beginners gaining confidence over a coloring medium and to help experienced colorers warming up and learning more about their media.
Color Swatches (stamp, die, combo) is a great all-around swatching set while Color Wheels (stamp, die, combo) helps you create the most accurate color-mixing references with the supplies you have on hand. The 2”x3” Swatch Stamp Set is adapted from Color Swatches stamp set for quick-n-easy applications and storage. Swatch Tag Die contains a standard ATC size tag (2-1/2” x 3-1/2”) with piercing details and hole re-enforcers. Also in this release is a 5”x7” stamp set called Adventures to let you practice landscape painting techniques right away and the Lacy Flower XL Die to add a soft, feminine touch to any project.
A professionally printed guide will be included in the Color Swatches Combo. All combos come in our Cloud Storage Pockets.
Let's get started today with a color chart I created for my favorite Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker color combinations with the Color Swatches Stamp Set and coordinating dies.
A Color Swatch dies was die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and stamped with the coordinating swatch stamp from the Color Swatches Stamp Set using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I used the two small boxes for the individual colors and then mixed the two colors in the larger box, blending with water from a water brush pen to see what the colors look like when watercolored.
Once dry, I adhered the swatched strips to a piece of cardstock and added the marker numbers/names with a Label Maker for easy reference.
These are my favorite Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker color combinations. The combos I reach for over and over again. I love having references like these right at my fingertips in case I ever wonder what colors look good together or what I want to use for a certain project.
Next, let's see how the color chart helps when we go to color in an image. I stamped this Adventures image on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen.
The leaves were all painted in free hand. I used shades of green but images a fall scene with browns, greens, oranges, and reds!
Once dry, I stamped a sentiment and adhered the panel to a card base. Easy peasy! Isn't this a beautiful image?!!!

I put a stamped dot on top of my Zig markers
so I could get an idea of the "real" color.
They're not very big and you can't test a couple
colors against each other. I love the way
you have made combinations as well as have a
bigger idea of what the color will look like.
thanks for sharing
