A bit of Distress Oxide Ink, some great dies, and these fantastic penguins make the most perfect winter wrapping presents scene. Mama Elephant makes some of the best of the best penguins. I just love them!
The falling snow background for my card was created by die cutting smooth white cardstock using the Galactic Cover and inking it up with Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink. The panel was adhered to a white side fold card base.
A mountain range was die cut from smooth white cardstock using the Snow Capped Mountains Dies and the bottom portion was masked off with post it tape to give two distinct areas: the iced over water and the mountain range. To ink the mountains, I applied a lighter application of Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink, spritzed the mountains with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted it dry. I switched the post it tape to cover the mountain range then and inked the iced over "water" with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with a very light hand. I removed the post it tape and adhered the mountain range over the inked background.
The Snow Capped Mountains Dies toppers were die cut from smooth white cardstock and the Marvy Snow Marker was applied to each and heat set to puff up and create amazing textured snow to the tops of each mountain!
Before stamping any image, I like to lay out the elements I think I want to use to make sure it's all going to fit.
I stamped the images from the Cool Penguins Stamp Set. on smooth white cardstock with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink, colored in the images with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies.
A sentiment from the stamp set was stamped along the bottom edge of the card panel using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink. Some of the images were adhered with foam adhesive squares and other adhered directly to the card base. The image were finished with white and black pens and Glossy Accents.
Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White and White Blizzard were used to finish off the snow in the sky and adhered to the die cut circles and starbursts, respectively.
