Today I created a couple of Sliding Window cards featuring new stamps and dies from the 3rd Birthday Release! These sliding window cards provide the perfect spot to tuck a gift card at the holidays. both cards feature elements that "pop up" when the sliding window tab is pulled up. I love the 3D effect that attaching only the bottom of the mittens and wreath add to the overall design!
The Sliding Window die was used to die cut the front panel of each card from brand new Holiday Cheer patterned papers. I loved the white on white of the patterns I chose so that the rest of the elements really shown through in the finished design!
The Sliding Window was assembled according to the directly in the video tutorial. Interactive phrase stamps from the Heffy Doodle Interactively Yours Stamp Set show that these cards are interactive and contain a gift.
For the die cut mittens card, the mittens and mug were die cut from Holiday Cheer patterned papers. using the new Warm & Cozy Dies, assembled, and adhered along the scored folding edge of the sliding window. Because I only attached the bottom of each mitten, the design "pops up" when the pull tab is pulled up!
"Merry Christmas" from the Polar Playmates Stamp Set was stamped on Simon Says Stamp Smoke Cardstock using clear embossing ink, embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the card as shown.
The Greetings die was die cut from silver glitter paper adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and adhered below the stamped greeting strip.
The design was finished with a scattering of Rainbow Rhinestones in the center of some of the patterned paper snowflakes.
The Happy Owlidays card Sliding Window base was created the same as the first card. This time I stamped the wreath and owl from Happy Owlidays on smooth white cardstock with black ink, colored in the images with Copic Markers, die cut with the coordinating dies, and adhered them only to the bottom of the sliding window so that the wreath pops up with the tab is pulled up.
Snowflakes from the Happy Owlidays stamp set were stamped with red ink around the background. The Greetings die was die cut from Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper Cardstock three times and adhered one on top of another before being adhered to the card base. A greeting from the Happy Owlidays stamp set was stamped on Simon Says Stamp Smoke Cardstock using clear embossing ink, embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the card.
