Love is in the air with the November Release from Mama Elephant! I am loving the change up from holiday cards and can't wait to show you all the fun designs I have made with the November Release products! My favorites from the release? Hogs and Kisses are the most adorable piggies, the Little Bear Agenda is the perfect addition to the collection, and this gorgeous Heart In Bloom Floral I've used today is a fantastic image to color!

I decided to do watercolor two ways with the Heart In Bloom set for my card shares today. The first is stamping and embossing on white Bristol Smooth Cardstock with white embossing powder and coloring in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The second is stamping and embossing on dark gray cardstock with gold embossing powder and coloring in with Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Inks (they look amazing on dark cardstock!). Two completely different mediums but both with fantastic, yet completely different, results!
For both cards I stamped the Hearts In Bloom image on either Bristol Smooth Cardstock or dark gray cardstock with clear embossing ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder on the white background and gold embossing powder on the dark gray background. We will be using the coordinating die with these images.
For the white background I used the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker color combinations to color in the flowers and banner:
024 Wine Red, 220 Tea Rose
260 Deep Red, 230 Pale Rose
026 Light Pink, 201 Pink Haze
043 Olive Green, 046 Mid Green
090 Gray, 097 Pale Gray
I added the color to the image and then watercolored with a water brush pen. Once dry I stamped the sentiment from Heart In Bloom with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
The background of the card was dry embossed with a Scor Pal at 1/2" and 1/4" intervals. The Heart In Bloom was die cut with the coordinating die and popped up on the background with foam adhesive. The design was finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Clear Confetti Mix sequins.
For the dark gray background the Heart In Bloom was colored in with Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Inks in Red, Green, and Pewter. These colors also work well for holiday but in this case I think they definitely give the feeling of "love". I painted the Glimmer Inks on with a water brush pen and die cut the image with the coordinating die.
The greeting from Heart In Bloom was stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The card was assembled exactly like the other one, with the scored background and image popped up with foam adhesive. Metallic Gold Sequins finish off this elegant love-themed card design.
