My cards today all feature the Main Kit images as the focal point of the design with the gorgeous Star Light Star Bright Bold Prints background used to reinforce the magical feeling of the scene.
For my first card share I combined lots and lots of images from the Main Kit (fairies, dandelions, toadstool, lady bugs) for the illusion of a fairy garden! The background was inked with Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks, spritzed with water from a Mini Mister (this gives a nice even misted spray) and then stamped on smooth white cardstock. Misting the inks before stamping help give a more even coverage for such a large mostly solid background.
Once dry a sentiment from the Main Kit was stamped along the top edge of the background with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The moon and some of the stars were adorned with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard for a sparkly clear finish.
The images from the Main Kit were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Intense Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies. Some of the images were adhered with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension. The fairy wings were finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard and the lady bugs finished with Glossy Accents. A white pen was used to add highlights to parts of the images.
For my next card, I used the same background technique with the Star Light Star Bright Bold Prints background but this time inked up the stamps with Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Inks. I trimmed down the background to 3 1/4" x 5 1/2" and matted the strip on some of the shimmer cardstock from the Main Kit. A greeting from the Main Kit stamp set was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
Images from the Main Kit were stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in with Copic markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies. This little mouse is darling and I love how it looks like he's made a wish after blowing on his dandelion!!!
My final card share today features the same Star Light Star Bright Bold Prints background this time inked with Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks and matted behind a die cut circle frame. An Infinity Circle Die was used to create a circular frame opening in the card panel. A greeting from the Wish I May Stamp & Cut set was stamped on the frame with black ink before adhering the frame with foam adhesive over the stamped background. Another fairy from the Main Kit was stamped, colored, and die cut before being adhered inside the frame opening with foam adhesive squares.
