Hello friends! Today I'm thrilled to be guesting over on the Simon Says Stamp blog with a couple of slimline picnic parade cards featuring the Simon Says Stamp August 2020 Card Kit, Picnic Parade. The kit includes a couple of exclusive slimline envelopes so I thought it would be perfect for creating some happy and fun short and long slimline cards! In addition to the Schoolhouse Red Slimline Envelope and Dandelion Slimline Envelope from the kit I also used greetings from the Hello Sunshine 6"x8" stamp set, Doodlebug Bar-B-Cute Mini Icon sticker sheets, Doodlebug Picnic Parade Shape Sprinkles, Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf Cardstock, and Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy Cardstock.

THE BACKGROUNDS
A card base for each card was created by trimming smooth white cardstock to 7" x 8 1/2". The card was scored in half along the 7" side so the finished card measures 3 1/2" x 8 1/2".
The background for both cards was created with Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf Cardstock, Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy Cardstock, and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Cardstock. The panels were die cut with the Lawn Fawn Large Slimline with Sliders Dies and Lawn Fawn Slimline Stitched Hillside Dies.
BUILDING THE SCENES
Clouds and sentiments from the Hello Sunshine 6"x8" stamp set were stamped on the background and border with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The scene was created with stickers from the Doodlebug Bar-B-Cute Mini Icon sticker sheets and Doodlebug Picnic Parade Shape Sprinkles.
The panel was adhered to the white top fold card base and paired with the Dandelion Slimline Envelope.
A sentiment from the Hello Sunshine 6"x8" stamp set was stamped on the border with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The scene was created with stickers from the Doodlebug Bar-B-Cute Mini Icon sticker sheets and Doodlebug Picnic Parade Shape Sprinkles. Another sentiment from the Hello Sunshine 6"x8" stamp set was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The phrase was die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Nested Banner Die and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
The panel was adhered to the white top fold card base and paired with the Schoolhouse Red Slimline Envelope.
