Happy Sunday friends! Today I am back with another idea for my 2021 Handmade Hearts & Things Series. A few months ago I shared THIS tutorial on creating seasonal gnome-themed die cut slimline cards with a promise to share ideas for each month. I know I skipped January (we'll get to her this next week. Promise.) I felt inspired to create this love-themed card for my series so I just went with it! Almost all the patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Sweet Talk 6" x 8" Patterned Paper (from the February 2021 SSS Card Kit or available separately). Keep reading and/or watch the video tutorial for all the details.

The "love you" from the Simon Says Stamp Heart Animals Stamp & Die Set was die cut from a red patterned paper and brown patterned paper, and adhered one on top of another slightly offset for a subtle shadow. Glossy Accents was applied to the greeting as shown. Additional phrases from the stamp set were stamped above and below the die cut greeting with Simon Says Stamp Rose Apple Ink.
The gnomes were adhered to the scene as shown. Heart accents were scattered throughout the card to finish the design.
Even though the mushroom house and gnome hat stick up above the card, this slimline design fits in the Cotton Candy Slimline Envelope.

The Simon Says Stamp Heart Garden Stamp Set image was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Light Carmine, Carmine Red, Light Green, and Yellow Green.
The "love you" and "joy" sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Days Stamp Set were stamped with clear embossing ink on Bristol Smooth Cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The letters were colored in with a combination of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen and allowed to air dry before being die cut with the coordinating die and adhered to each card panel.
Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy Mini Slimline Envelopes were stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Heart Garden Stamp Set using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I love how this little bit of stamping makes the envelope match the card!
On the back flap of the envelope "open me" was stamped from the Simon Says Stamp Sassy Flaps Stamp Set using clear embossing ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder.

If you follow me on Instagram HERE you will know that I am doing a year-long series where I send out ten cards weekly to followers randomly selected from a Google Form my friend Lori Craig set up for me. I came up with this for a couple of reasons:
I have SO. MANY. CARDS. and not enough friends/family to send them to. You all are so kind and supportive of what I do here and on YouTube and I want to give back!
With how hard 2020 was it has reinforced in me that there's nothing like a handmade card in your mailbox to give a little sunshine to others. Not only does it brighten someone else's day, but it brightens MINE to share with you.
If you would like a chance to receive a card, please fill out the form HERE. I can not promise that I will be able to send a card to all of you but I am going to TRY. I already have almost 400 people signed up. But.... I do make a lot of cards every week so I am going to do my best! 🥰
NOTE One of the questions I receive the most is if I mail cards internationally. Yes I do! It may take a bit to get to you (I just was told today by a follower that she just got the card I mailed her 4 weeks ago!)
Every weekend I will do a little weekly recap with the list of cards I'm mailing out. I have 3 weeks worth of names today. Please check weekly to see if you are expecting a card.

Hello friends. I'm so glad you're here! Today I'm sharing this fussy cut Valentine's card and matching envelope using components from the Simon Says Stamp February 2021 Card Kit, Love You Beary Much. In the video below I'm sharing how to create a custom text background with a border stamp and a MISTI, how to eliminate messy edges from fussy cutting with a black marker, adding a bold stamped and embossed sentiment over a stamped background and more. Keep reading and/or watch the video tutorial for all the details.
*Note: Most of the products I'm using are also available for individual purchase if you don't want to purchase a kit. Yay!

The heart was left uncolored and the image was stamped again on a Simple Stories Sweet Talk 6"x8" Patterned Paper (included in the kit) and all the images were fussy cut with scissors. The edges were colored with the brush tip of the fussy cut images with the N10 marker. This eliminates the ugly white edge. The images were adhered to the card as shown.
The conversation hearts were customized with phrases from the Simon Says Stamp Love You Beary Much 6"x8" Stamp Set and another phrase from the stamp set was stamped on the patterned paper heart with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Glossy Accents was applied to the heart on the speech bubble and nose on the bear. Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard was applied to the heart on the truffle. White pen detail was added to the images as well.
